ADJECTIVE

An adjective is a word that describes or clarifies a noun or pronoun.

Adjective adalah kata yang mendeskripsikan atau menjelaskan noun atau pronoun.
*pronoun adalah kata ganti: it, she, he, they

Adjective dapat berperan sebagai:

1. Linking verb/ functional verb : We are good
That is correct
2. Verb : A red jacket
An expensive car

Classification of adjective:
1. Demonstrative adjective: adjective yang berfungsi sebagai kata tunjuk.
Demonstrative adjective: this, that, these, those
E.g: Those stars are magnificent
These cakes taste so good

2. Distributive adjective (pembagian): each, every, either, neither

E.g: Each of you needs to bring your document

3. Quantitative adjective: adjective yang menunjukkan jumlah atau kuantitas.

Quantitative adjective: some, many, one of, half, any, one
E.g: One student

4. Interrogative adjective: adjective yang mengindikasikan pertanyaan.

Interrogative adjective: which, whose, what
 E.g: What case are you talking about?
Whose wallet is this?

5. Possessive adjective: adjective yang menunjukkan kepemilikan.

Possessive adjective: my, your, her, his, their, our, their
E.g: The thief stole her wallet
They ruined their marriage

6. Of quality: adjective yang berarti ‘kata sifat’.

E.g: fat, clever, dry, crispy, cheap, etc.
Example in sentence: Rose rubbed her cold hands

Adjectives ending in –ing and –ed

1. Verb + ing
E.g: The egg is rather disappointing
This is such a boring performance

2. Verb + ed
E.g: I am so tired of long songs (Lauv & Troye Sivan)
