Oxygen Standards Oxygen Concentrator Plant Sizing

PSA oxygen modules are able to produce oxygen compliant with HTM 02-01 Part A – Appendix M gives indication of the average
the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) or European Pharmacopeia oxygen consumption per bed (+/- 1.5 - 2 l/min per bed).
(EurPh) monograph for Oxygen 93. Both standards were created
explicitly to permit the use of PSA produced oxygen for hospitals. In surgery rooms (operating theatres) consumption can peak to 10
lpm per bed. For COVID hospital, average diversified consumption
has been typically assumed 10 lpm per bed.
The concentrator sizing for the specific facility remains the
Standard responsibility of the hospital personnel.
