Chained to the Rhythm” by Katy Perry depicted a significant relationship on how humans are
being influenced by the society and technology, which we have forgotten what science wants us to do; to
discover, to learn, to be knowledgeable and free from any irrelevant biases and influence. The lyrics say
that “we think that we’re free” and yes, we might think that we are free but actually we are chained to the
rhythm. We are chained to the rhythm of the society by doing what others want us to do, and it somehow
questions our freewill. Same goes to the technology since we are too much relying on it, and the idea that
we are abusing the technology can turn into the idea that we are being abused by the technology by our
own doings.
