6-44 Windshield Wipers GMC HYDRAULIC GMC Motor Home. DESCRIPTION ‘Mator home uses 0 variable speed hydraulic wiper system with washers or stondord equipment. Mator is mounted to bracket fon left side of vehicle in front of drivers toe board. The hydraulic motor is powered by power steering fluid from dis: charge side of power steering pump. Windshield wosher reser voir and pump ore combined into one unit REMOVAL & INSTALLATION WASHER & PUMP ASSEMBLY Removal ~ Disconnect bottery ground cable and then dis connect two wire leads to washer motor. Disconnect hose at Fear of washer reservoir, Lit reservoir from bracket ond remove from vehicle. Installation — Position reservoir in bracket and install two wires to terminals on motor. Connect hose to back of reservoir. Connect battery ground cable and check unit for proper 3GMa01 To Power Steering Pump WIPER MOTOR HOSE CONNECTIONS PIVOT SHAFT & LINK Removal — Remove wiper arms from pivot shafts by remov ing plastic caps, retaining nuts and then wiper orms. Remove Tinkage from wiper motor crank arm by sliding back clips [away from motor). Remove thvee bolts from pivot shaft moun ting bracket ond remove assembly Installation — To install, reverse removal procedure, WIPER MOTOR NOTE — Windshield wiper motor is serviced os on ossembly Do not attempt to repair the motor. Removal — Disconnect hoses ot motor and tope ends of hoses 10 prevent loss of fluid or entrance of dirt or water into system, Loosen cable retaining screw at bottom of motor end Femove pin from arm on motor assembly, Remove connector forms by sliding back clips and disconnecting arms from motor Remove belts securing motor te bracket and remove from vehi de Installation — To install, reverse removal procedures while noting the following: When installation completed, check ower steering fivd level, operate wipers on o wet windshield ‘ond recheck fluid level.
