VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION/GRADE 5/SA1 PROJECT

( 5 marks for the presentation + 2 marks for the VIVA)

1) You need to grow any plant through vegetative propagation(stem, root or

leaves only).
2) Prepare for a presentation .
3) Presentation will be in the first week of August.(dates will be informed later)
Guidelines to grow the plant:
● Select any healthy plant to be propagated.
● Read about your plant.
● Find out which method of vegetative propagation (Artificial or natural) is suitable for
your plant.
● Take care of your plant .

● Remember, it’s your job to take care of the plant. Not your mom’s!

Guidelines For the presentation-(1st week of August)

● Time : Oral Presentation time : 3 minutes + 2 minutes for VIVA ( Question and
Answer session)

● You must have the plant grown by you for the presentation.
● Prepare a ppt (maximum of 5 to 7 slides only)

The ppt must include these details:

 Introduction (Name of the plant, Date(when planted) etc)
 Method and details of procedure of vegetative propagation used( in points):
 The soil type used
 Include pictures of stages of growth of your plant(just few prominent growth
that is visible)
 Also include few pictures of examples of other plants that can be also grown
using the method chosen by you/few facts about your plant
 Conclusion
o (you can modify/ include points in your ppt according to your creativity
/suggestions. The above are just a few general guidelines. But ensure
there are maximum 5 to 7 slides only)
 Save the ppt on your device before the presentation.(you can share your screen
on the day of the presentation)

 FOR VIVA: Questions from the chapter PLANT REPRODUCTION will be asked.
