1. Receipt of window pallets

REMOVE STRETCH FILM

Check if the window pallet has been delivered without shipping damage. Any damage or
defects in the delivery must be reported immediately to your Drutex partner (send
photos that show errors). Check all items directly upon receipt - remove stretch film,
check if the number of windows and their properties match your order.

STORAGE

NOTE! Do not leave the windows wrapped in stretch film, even if installation is not to take place
immediately after delivery. Products must not be exposed to bad weather conditions, ie storage
must take place under a roof, in a well-ventilated room where windows are placed on a flat and
horizontal surface.

QUANTITY AND QUALITY CONTROL

Make sure the number of windows delivered matches your order. Check for visible defects
on glass and profiles (scratches, cracks, irregularities). Examine the properties of the
window, such as hinge, color, glass combination, number and location of posts and bars.
Check whether the ratio between the external dimensions of the window frame and the
window opening is maintained (the width and height of the window opening should be
approximately 20 mm larger than the window itself).

NOTE! Windows are equipped with a 30 mm transport strip that is screwed to the lower
part of the window frame. Most fitters unscrew the transport strip before mounting, but it
is possible to mount the window together with the transport strip.

If there is any damage or if the product does not comply with the order, this must be
reported to the window seller before installation begins. If the customer decides to install
damaged or faulty products before the complaint handling is ready, the customer loses the
right to a complaint.

window frame
STANDARD HINGES MACO MULTI MATIC

Remove plastic cover plates from the upper and lower hinges [1 + 3]. Pull the metal pin
down on the upper hinge and pull the upper edge of the window frame towards you [2].
Using a mounting handle, pull the window frame down to a 90-degree angle to the
window frame.

Lift up the lower edge of the window frame so that it detaches from the lower hinge. Be
careful not to lose the window frame when it comes loose from the hinges. To
reassemble the inner frame, perform this step in reverse order.

Pull the window frame down until it is at a 90 degree angle to the window frame.
Pull down the latch to the incorrect handle position [1] and get the handle in the ventilation position [2].

Open the lock for the upper hinge arm [1] and pull up the hinge arm [2]. Align the window
frame, pull the upper edge of the window frame towards you [3] and lift the lower part of the
window frame up [4]. Be careful not to lose the window frame when it comes loose from the
hinges. To reassemble the window frame, perform this step in reverse order.

5. Preparation of window opening

for installation

Check if the surfaces of the window opening are even - place the spirit level in three different planes and
make sure that the air bladder is in the middle between two marks on the spirit level's pipe. Alternatively,
you can use a leveling laser for this task.

Remove dust and contaminants from the window opening surfaces. Shallow surfaces with a
shower bottle to improve the insulation foam's insulating ability and adhesion.

6. Mounting methods with

different window mounts

MOUNTING BRACKETS

Place the mounting teeth of the mounting brackets in the large space on the outside of
the window frame [1]. Knock it down with the hammer so that the mounting bracket is
attached [2]. Rotate the mounting bracket arm 90 degrees so that it points toward the
inside of the compartment [3]. Screw it to the window sill [4] - use a screw shorter than
10 mm. Place all mounting brackets evenly around the window sill. The distance
between the mounting brackets should be approx. 700 mm and approx. 200 mm from
the corner of the window frame or dividing posts -see picture on page no. 14.

SCREWS

Drill through the entire frame with an 8 mm screw (from the inside of the frame). Then
drill through the same hole with a 14 mm screw. Be careful not to drill too deep this
time, drilling through only the first layer of the PVC profile. Distance between the holes
should be approx. 700 mm, and approx. 200 mm. from the corner of the window frame
or dividing posts -see picture on page no. 14.

DRUTEX BY VENSKA
PAGE 13

FRAME SLEEVE

Drills through the entire frame (from the inside of the frame). The size of the holes must be adapted
according to the diameter of selected frame sleeves (eg 14/16 mm with the thread), the distance
between the holes must be approx. 700 mm, and approx. 200 mm from the corner of the window
frame or dividing posts -see picture on page no. 14.

NOTE! It is possible to order windows that have already been pre-drilled (the frame sleeves

! themselves are not included). The number and location of holes are carried out according to the
instructions of the factory technologist. You can see from above the step if you have ordered windows
that have already pre-drilled holes for mounting with frame sleeves.

Screw in all frame sleeves from the outside of the frame. The length of the sleeves must be adjusted
according to the thickness of the frame.

Do not forget that PVC as a material is significantly more prone to deformation than wood. Such
deformations in PVC profile can occur as a result of prolonged external pressure (eg when windows are
wrapped in stretch film long after delivery) or incorrect installation of mounting brackets, frame sleeves,
screws (so that these elements are loaded unevenly with compressive forces). In such cases, PVC profiles
can bend / wave. It is necessary for the fitter to remove such profile formations when he / she places
windows in the wall / building, so that the product works correctly and flawlessly in the future.

Apart from general installation instructions that are universal for windows made of different materials, the
fitter must ensure that the profile fits evenly in the window opening (in all levels). Despite the fact that PVC
profiles are equipped with steel reinforcement, they are more elastic than profiles made of aluminum or wood
and therefore more exposed to mechanical deformations. This can occur as a result of:

• incorrect storage of windows after delivery and before installation - bad weather conditions or that they
are wrapped in stretch film for a long time for a long time after delivery,
• incorrect fastening in window opening - fastening element is loaded with different
compressive forces so that the window frame is pulled too much / too little towards the
window opening (to reduce this risk it is necessary for the fitter to place wedges around
fastening elements),
• an insufficient number of fastening elements or incorrect placement of these around
window sills,
• too much grout or use of the wrong type of grout.

If the above factors are not eliminated during installation, these can result in the window being leaky
(the window frame is not tight against the window frame) or it becomes difficult to open and close the
window (the window frame receives the window frame). These can be fixed by adjusting the fittings or
adjusting the glass cassette. However, it can contribute to the moving elements of the window being
worn out faster.

Windows do not require direct adjustment if the product is installed in accordance with these
installation instructions.

Insert the window frame into the window opening, place plastic wedges under the window frame (see picture
on page no. 17). Block the upper part of the window frame with wooden wedges and a mounting cushion. The
number of wedges around the window frame depends on the type of window opening. Check the position of
the window frame with the help of a spirit level / laser. See picture on page no. 19 where it is shown which plan
is to be checked before starting fastening.

Make sure that the window frame is in the middle of the window opening (ie at the same distance
from the inner and outer wall) and that it is placed vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Screw
fasteners to the wall (mounting brackets or screws). Check the position of the window frame again
with the help of a spirit level / laser and adjust the position of the window frame.

CHECKING THE WINDOW FRAME PLAN BEFORE MOUNTING

INSULATION / FILLING IN JOINT FOAM

Fill in the space between the window sill and the wall with grout.
Always start filling at the bottom of the window and continue in a zigzag upwards. The joint foam must be filled
in from both sides of the window, both inside and outside.
Spray the grout with water from the shower bottle (the foam will harden faster and have a better
structure). Remove the wedges that sit around the window sill and fill in the hole that has formed with
grout. Mount the window frame in the window frame and adjust it if necessary.

When the grout is dry, cut off excess material found on the outside of the window. Use silicone sealant on
the joint foam on the inside of the window (silicone sealants are vapor-tight). Begin application in the
upper part of the window and continue downwards. Remove excess silicone with a putty knife. Apply
acrylic sealant to the joint foam on the outside of the window and remove protective tape from the profiles.

ASSEMBLY WITH FRAME SLEEVE

Insert the window frame into the window opening.

Place plastic wedges under the window frame (see picture on page no. 17).
Adjust the frame so that it is horizontal. Unscrew the lower frame sleeves on both sides so that they
lean against the wall [1 + 2].

Unscrew one of the upper sleeves while checking the weight of the frame. Unscrew the upper
sleeve on the opposite side so that it is close to the wall. When all the sleeves have been unscrewed,
the frame must be checked for solder. Tighten all sleeves with the screw that best suits the material
of the house wall [3 + 4]. Apply grout according to the instructions on page 19.

In some cases, spacers around the glass cartridge can be moved during delivery. This can
cause the window frame to deform, which can lead to further difficulties in opening and
closing the window. Improper placement of the window frame in the window frame can, in
the worst case, cause the glass to break.

To avoid the above situations, we recommend correcting the position of the spacer blocks.
When the glass cassette is placed correctly, the window frame sits directly against the
window frame. Instructions on how to adjust the window frame with the help of the glass
cassette can be found here: www.venska.no.
