ARTICLE I
NAME
This academic organization shall be known as the Taguig City University Mathematics Club
(TCUMC).
ARTICLE II
ORGANIZATIONAL SEAL
Section 1:
The Taguig City University Mathematics Club Seal.
Section 2:
The official seal of TCUMC shall be used only for the club’s functions and purposes only.
Section 3:
The TCUMC official seal used in any events, projects and activities without the
permission of the Club president and adviser is not the liability of the TCUMC.
ARTICLE II
OBJECTIVES
Section 1:
To stimulate, enhance and integrate the knowledge, skills and interests of students in
mathematics and allied areas.
Section 2:
To increase the awareness of its members on the career opportunities in the field of
mathematics.
Section 3:
To provide for fora the interexchange of mathematical ideas and skills among the
students and instructors as well.
ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP
Section 1:
This academic organization is exclusively for BSE-Mathematics students of Taguig City
University.
Section 2:
Students who will be enrolled as a BSE-Mathematics Major will be automatically a
member of TCU Mathematics Club.
Section 3:
Members have the following duties and responsibilities:
b.) All members must support and participate in the activities and programs of the
organization.
c.) All members should know and be aware to the resolutions, decisions, activities
and programs to be made by the organization.
d.) All members should pay his/her semestral membership fee of fifty pesos
(Php50.00).
Section 4:
All members are provided with the following rights and privileges:
b.) Members have the privileges to attend remedial classes by the organization.
c.) Members have the right to be heard with regards to their opinion, clarification and
needs inside the organization.
d.) Members have the right to be informed of the financial status of the club.
e.) Members are provided by the organization with the activities related in enhancing
and developing one’s leadership, competence, social domains and self-confidence.
ARTICLE IV
GOVERNING BODY
Section 1:
The club officers shall compose of:
President, Vice-president for Internal and External, Secretary, Assistant secretary, Treasurer.
Auditor, Business manager, and Public Information Officer.
Section 2:
The term of office shall be one (1) school year and shall continue to hold office until
their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified or until removed.
Section 3:
The set of officers as a body shall have the following powers:
a) Plan the activities, projects and events of the Taguig City University Mathematics
Club.
b) Establish the guidelines and policies adherent with the university policies in conduct
of project and activities promoted or undertaken by the club
c) Promulgate such rules and regulations to implement the provisions of the By-laws and
constitution.
Section 4:
The Taguig City University Mathematics Club shall have one club adviser.
a) The adviser must be a full-time permanent faculty member who demonstrated expertise in
Mathematics as well as its related fields.
b) The adviser shall guide the club officers in organizing events or activities of the Taguig City
University Mathematics Club.
c) The adviser shall supervise, approve, and dismiss any member of the club who violated any
rules and regulations of the organization.
ARTICLE V
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OFFICERS
Section 1. The President will be the chief executive officer for the organization. He or she will
preside over all the meetings. The President will have all the following duties and powers.
a.) Attend all the meetings of the organization. When the attendance of the
President is not possible, he or she will appoint a suitable replacement and give
this person his or her voting proxy.
b.) Establish the agenda for each meeting of the organization.
c.) Serve as delegation chair to the over-all meetings of Society Teachers
Practitioners.
d.) Remove anyone from any appointed position without the approval of the
Executive Board and the Adviser.
Section 2. The Vice-president of internal and external shall have all the following duties and
responsibilities:
a.)The Vice for Internal will be the chair of the recruiting committee.
b.) The Vice-President for internal will appoint a co-chairperson of the Recruiting-
Committee, pending the approval of Executive Board.
c.) The Vice President for internal will act as President Pro-Tempore in the absence
of the President. In a case where the President’s office becomes vacant, the Vice
President for Internal will become automatically and will assume all powers,
duties and responsibilities associated with that position.
d.) Both the Vice-President for Internal and the Vice-President for external will
assists the President.
e.) The Vice-President for external will have the same responsibilities as Vice-
President for internal except a chair of the recruiting committee.
f.) In the absence of the Vice-President for internal, the Vice-President for External
will automatically assume the power.
Section 3. The secretary shall have all the following duties and responsibilities:

Section 5. The Treasurer will be responsible for handling the funds of the organization and must
assure their safety and prudent use. Other duties are the following:
a. Maintain accurate financial records for the organization.
b. Advice all the members of the Executive Board regarding the financial condition of the
chapter.
c. Provide a financial statement for the chapter to be audited by the chair of the Executive
Board and the Over-all Auditor.1
d. Assist the Business Manager in developing fund raising ideas and soliciting donations.
Section 6. The Auditor shall monitor the financial statement provided by the Chapter Treasurer
and will provide a computerized financial report for the organization.
Section 7. The Business Manager is the principal proponent of all business transaction and
activities of the organization both inside and outside of the school. Other duties re the
following:
Section 8. The Public Information Officers of each year level will be obliged to coordinate all the
activities of the Organization to other organizations in the University and should report
feedback in every projects or programs of the Organization. He/she must accept suggestions or
request of the members of the organization, and should be responsible for information
dissemination of all or any general information, updates or announcements that merely related
to, or might effects the organization. He/she, aside from the President, may also be sent to
other school for any academic purposes. They must also be active in extra-curricular activities
of the University and will act as event organizations.
Section 9. The TCUMC publication team shall have all the following duties and responsibilities:
a. In charge with the documentations of the activities of the club and even with its
participation on any events inside and outside the campus.
b. Provide a Narrative report of the club’s activities 3 days after the said activity.
c. Provide the layout of the club’s organizational shirt and I.D lace.
d. Create a newspaper of the TCUMC once in a month.
ARTICLE VI
ELECTION
Section 1:
The election of the new set of officers shall be held annually, every month of March, to
be conducted by the Taguig City University Mathematics Club Officers.
Section 2:
The induction of officers should be done 15 days after election.
Section 3:
The casting of votes shall be done through secret balloting, using the ballots provided
for that purpose.
Section 4:
The candidates seeking position shall be given the chance to present their action plans
before the electing body prior to actual casting of votes.
Section 5:
No candidate shall be selected in absentia.
Section 6:
The qualified elective officers shall:
c. have no reported case(s) of violations committed in the past and against the club and
the university as verified by the records of the club and Office of student affairs and services
(OSAS).
d. have no failure(s) in any of the academic subjects taken the previous semester; and
Section 7:
The members may eliminate any of the elected officers due to the following conditions:
a) Officer(s) who made three (3) consecutive absences during meetings held by the
organization without having a valid reason.
d) All officers may re-elect except for the position of the president.
ARTICLE VII
MEETINGS
Section 1:
Special/emergency meetings may be called by the President.
Section 2:
All officers must attend all meetings; in case of absences, he/she must inform officers
regarding his/her reason of not attending meeting(s).
ARTICLE VIII
FUNDING
Section 1:
The budget officers may undertake fundraising activities for the purposes to support the
mission of the organization.
Section 2:
All funds realized from the membership fees, fund raising projects, and donations shall
be kept under the name of Taguig City University Mathematics club for use with expenses of
the club’s program and projects.
ARTICLE IX
AMENDMENTS
Section 1:
All amendments to this constitution must be presented to all members at a regular
meeting of the club and must be passed by a majority vote of the members present.
Section 2:
The amendment shall be introduced by the author of the constitution.
Section 3:
Any member may propose amendments or modification of the constitution or by-laws.
ARTICLE X
TRANSITORY PROVISION
Section 1:
The constitution shall be ratified by a majority vote of the members of TCU Mathematics
Club.
Section 2:
This constitution shall take effect immediately upon its ratification.
