The table below shows a survey on the preference of

three age groups for different TV programmes in a


European country in 2012.
The table illustrates the number of people who watched various television
programmes in a European Country in a year 2012.
Overall, looking at the chart, it is immedifately obvious that features film and
sport programmes were quiet popular among all three age groups. Futhermore,
cartoon made up the largest proportion of viewers in the 11-15s, while news
programmes registered for the highest rate in the 21-25s.
Of the three age groups, features films sports were the most favourite kinds of
TV programmes. Both programmes attracted approxiamately 20% of the total
viewership from each age. In contrast, TV Drama was the least popular with
only around 10% from each group.
In terms of genre, 29% of people in the age range of 11 to 15 enjoyed watching
cartoons, compared to 4% of people in the 21-25 age group. Meanwhile, the
quantity of people who watched news on television in the 21-to-25-year-olds
accounted for 23%, which nearly quadrupled the figure for the 11-25s and 6%
higher than that of the people who were between 15 and 20 years old.
Moreover, while Soap Opera was an attractive programme for the 11-to-15
years old people and the 21-25s, at 17% and 19% respectively, only more than
one in tenth the 15-20-year-olds viewd them.
