The line chart illustrates the number of international tourists to three different areas in a
particular counry in Europe from 1987 and 2007.
As is observed from the graph, it is obvious that the data of three regions similarly forllowed
upward trend. While the coast remained the most popular destinations most of the
surveyed time, the mountains attracted the least foreign visitors among all the three
locations. The number of travelers to the lakes fluctuated signigicantly.
Firstly, in 1987, approximately 40,000 visitors went to coastal regions. Five years later, this
figure fell down to about 35,000 prior to ending at the highest point at 75,000 in 2007.
Regarding the mountainous areas, the number of international travelers fluctuated from
roughly 20,000 to 30,000 during the first half of the period, and then increased back to
35,000 in 2007.
The figures for lake visitors continuously rose and reached the peak of 75,000 in 2002.
However, this number began to drop significantly in the remaining years, reaching 50,000
tourists in 2007.
The graph below shows relative price changes for fresh fruits and vegetables, sugars
and sweets, and carbonated drinks between 1978 and 2009.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.

Food items – food product groups
The given line graph shows comparative/ relative changes in price among food items
like fresh fruits and vegetables, sugar and sweets and carbonated drinks over the span
of 30 years from 1979 to 2009. The graph also shows the general trend in the
consumer price index during this time.
Overall, all the food items started at the nearly same price point in 1979 (had the same
starting figure) but the price of fresh fruit and vegetables experienced the most
significant growth whereas the price of carbonated drinks was the lowest among all.
(Only the increase in the prices for fresh fruits and vegetables was significantly higher
than the rise in the general consumer price index)

Writing task 1. Line graph (the percentage of people accessing news from 4
sources: TV, Radio, Newspaper, Internet)
the proportion of
the figure for
the data
the rate
Answer:
The line graph illustrates how the proportion of people getting news from 4 different
sources, namely…., has changed since 1995 with the prediction to 2025.
It is obviously seen that three modes of media, which are TV, Radio, and Newspaper
witnessed a decrease in the rate of users and the trend is predicted to be the same
in the future, whereas the figure for Internet increased significantly and this trend is
projected to continue.
TV remains the dominant means throughout most of this period, with roughly 70% of
citizens using it in 1995, falling to under 60% in 2000. Having plateaued until 2010, it
saw a gradual decrease in the next decade, despite a slight rise of 3% in 2020. This
is expected to continue, reaching the lowest point of 50% in 2025.
Additionally, starting at about 55%, the figures for newspapers and radios followed
the similar downward trends, witnessing a decrease in popularity about 30% in 2020.
The expectation is that approximately 30% of people will use newspapers, and
roughly 20% will listen to the radio to get news.
Despite only becoming available in 1995 and attracting only a small proportion of
people in 2000, the internet quickly became prevalent in the next 20 years, with 40%
of people using it. The figure is predicted to increase to about 55% in 2025,
overcoming TV to become the most common method to access news in 2025.
- Cellular phone service: a low starting point, the same as Internet service,
witnessed a marked rise, surged to the peak from 2004 to 2008 (at approximately
30%), tripled the number of Internet users (60%).
- Fixed broadband, mobile broadband: not until 2004, the very first users of two
means, slight growth in popularity, reaching the same point at the last year in
question (nearly 5%).
- Internet: stayed the same from 1998 to 2002 (at roughly 4%) => ascend to nearly
10%, overtaking landline service to become the second most popular
communication method.
- Landline service: at first: attracted the highest number of citizens => minimally
fluctuated across the period around 15% => decline between 2006 and 2008,
back to the original point
The diagram illustrates how the proportion of users of five different communication
means changed between 1998 and 1008.
As is evident from the chart, cellular phone service experienced the most significant
increase, becoming the most popular method in the last year. A similar upward trend
was also seen in the figures for three other methods: Internet service, fixed
broadband, and mobile broadband, with the exception of “landline service” which
remained unchanged.
