CẤU TRÚC WISH/ IF ONLY

S + wish + S +….
If only + S +…
 Đây là cấu trúc nói về điều ước, nói về những điều không có thật.
 Cách làm: 2 bước
+ Bước 1: Lùi thì
+ Bước 2: Đổi dấu (Khẳng định -> Phủ định, Phủ định -> Khẳng định)
1. Present wish: S + wish (es) + S + V2/ Ved/ WERE
(Dùng were cho tất cả các ngôi)
Ex. I wish I studied very well. (I don’t study very well.)
I wish I had a lot of money. (I don’t have a lot of money.)
If only I were a good student. (I am not a good student.)

2. Past wish: S + wish (ed) +S + had + V3/Ved

Ex. I wish I had studied well last year. (I didn’t study well last year.)
I wish I hadn’t got a bad mark yesterday. (I got a bad mark yesterday.)
If only I had been there last night. (I were not there last night.)

3. Future wish: S + wish (es) +S + would/ could/ should/ might + Vo

Ex. I wish I would study very well. (I won’t study very well.)
I wish I might go on a trip with my friends. (I may not go on a trip with my friends.)
If only I could speak English well. (I can’t speak English well.)
