hear what you think. We usually get masses of homework. I spend about … hours a week on
homework and I feel …. So, should our teachers continue to overload us with ….
Some students think so, but others disagree.

Firstly …. Secondly …. Thirdly ….

However …. It is a well-known fact that …. What is more …. As a result ….

To sum up …. I am convinced that ….

to play an important role in the pupil’s education/to teach children to be responsible and hard-working/to
foster independent learning/to help reinforce what pupils have already learnt/to prepare them for
upcoming lessons and extend what they know/to make children learn more and revise the material they
have learnt at school/to provide an opportunity for parents to participate in children’s education.

to need some time to relax, exercise and play/to take a lot of time and effort/to sit up and do their
homework all night/to suffer a lack of physical exercises and good sleep/to lead to stress, heart attacks
and obesity/to have great difficulty in doing their homework.

to know what their pupils understand and can do independently (about teachers);
to give them an opportunity to increase their knowledge, to improve their abilities and skills and to grasp
new consepts.
