Digitizing Education System Can Save the Earth

because online education is similar to a paperless classroom, and it has the potential to
revolutionize the fight against deforestation. The less paper we use, the more trees will be
saved, and online education can reduce the negative impacts on other natural resources,
too.
Essay
The tremendous expansion of paper usage has put the world's forests in jeopardy since
more trees are getting cut down every day, and it has become the greatest threat to earth
and all living beings by causing global warming. Even though there are other reasons
responsible for deforestation, human activities are responsible for it. Since the dawn of
civilization, the relation between humans and trees is undetachable. There is no other
alternative way to replace Oxygen- the imperative element for the living world, which we
get from the trees. But, our heartless activities are decreasing the number of these friends
from nature day by day. After the invention of paper and using it in our day-to-day life,
we have damaged the ecological balance that assured our safe and sound survival. The
average consumption rate of 400,000 sheets of paper per school year has helped the
education sector climb up the way to the top of the ladder. In this current situation, online

By getting an education online, people will be less likely to be in the paper documents
like (textbooks, homework submissions, and grade reports) which will be replaced by
electronic documents. Online education is similar to a paperless classroom that can help
create less waste, dodging printing costs, and it also has the potential to revolutionize the
A standard pine tree can produce up to 10,000 sheets of paper, and the average
consumption rate of paper sheets per year by a school is Four hundred thousand, which
makes it around forty standard pine trees that are getting cut down every year. So, when
things (the academic documental activities) will get done online, the need for physical
textbooks and other paper-related documents will decrease. Ultimately, it will help to
reduce the amount of paper consumption in the educational sector. Moreover, we would
Online learning lowers the negative impact of manufacturing and transports on the
environment. The need for traditional school supplies (textbooks, desks, electricity, and
buildings) is considerably reducing, and the results are waste reduction and natural
resources conservation. Online learning also saves both the learning institution and the
student money and time. The average American uses up to 600 gallons of gas a year.
Much of this waste comes from speeding, waiting in traffic, and parking the car while
texting. There are bunches of studies that indicated that Carbon Dioxide emissions

reduced by up to ten tons each semester for every 100 students who did not go to school.
So, serving education online can reduce the negative impacts on other natural resources,
It is no wonder that we are trying to figure out new ways to make our day-to-day life
more comfortable. But if the earth becomes a place where it will not be a livable place
anymore, what will we do with all these comforts. There are many more ways to reduce
deforestation, and digitizing the education system could be one. By creating a paperless
classroom, we can revolutionize the fight against deforestation, as the paper is one of the
basic materials for education. There is no doubt that education has no other alternatives,
and one must educate himself to build a beautiful nation and a beautiful future. But
instead of using paper materials, we can transform the materials into electronic
documents to use less paper and save more trees. By digitizing education, we can save
