Chehre: A
game of words
owned by
Amitabh
Bachchan
Friday saw the release of most-awaited Hindi film of this year,
Chehre. Rumy Jafry thriller stars Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan
Hashmi, Annu Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, Jagdish, Rhea Chakraborty,
Krystle Dsouza, Siddhant Kapoor, Sameer Soni, and AlexO'Neill.
The story highlights the flaws of the Indian judiciary system and
the plight that victims go through. Four retired oldies from the
local court, Paramjeet (Annu Kapoor), Jagdish (Dhritiman
Chatterjee), Hariya (Raghubir Yadav) and Lateef (Amitabh
Bachchan) play a game every night depicting famous Indian cases
and to bring the victims to justice in their own way. Anna (Rhea
Chakroborty) and Joe (Siddhant Kapoor) are their helpers and have
a unique backstory for themselves which is revealed at the end.
Sameer (Emraan Hashmi) is stranded due to road block on a day
when the snowstorm hits and seeks shelter in the oldies home. He
is then later on being played on by the oldies as their case subject
and so on Natasha's (Krystal Dsouza) role in Sameer's life is
revealed along with their crimes.
The storyline is good, however,it was a bit predictable at the end.
The music and dialogues do justice with the characters' in the
film. For a one time thriller watch, this film can be highly
recommended. Rumy Jafry did justice with the actors that were
brought together.
However, as previously predicted, the film suffered loss and
negative reviews because of Rhea Chakraborty and the negative
limelight associated with her laat year in the SSR case. Though,
this is a bad practice as audiences are requested to watch the
film for its story and entertainment purposes. There is so much at
stake when a film is made that audiences should keep in mind,
rather than giving negative reviews about a film without even
watching it.

Renovated Jallianwala
Bagh inaugurated by PM
Modi

Stressing that it is a country's duty to protect

its history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
said on Saturday that events of the past
"teach us and give us direction to move
forward", as he dedicated to the nation the
renovated complex of Jallianwala Bagh
memorial. Modi, who inaugurated the
complex virtually, paid homage to the
Jallianwala Bagh martyrs.

"The global developments remind us of the

importance of self-reliance and self-
confidence.

He said the dedication of the renovated

complex in the country's 75th year of
freedom is a matter of inspiration for all.

Horrors like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre

and the Partition speak of the sacrifices
made for India''s freedom and should not be
forgotten as they inspire to keep the country
above all, the prime minister said.
ACTOR
ANIRUDDH
DAVE RETURN
TO SHOOTING
AFTER TESTING
COVID
POSITIVE
Aniruddh Dave is all set to return to shooting after
five months. The actor had tested COVID-19
positive while shooting for a web series in Bhopal
in April this year. Aniruddh had to be hospitalised
for 55 days and returned home in June after
beating COVID.

Aniruddh has since recovered, except a few post-

COVID complications and will resume shooting. In
an exclusive chat with us, Anirudh says, “Finally
things are getting back to normalcy and I am
gearing up to be back in action. Soon I will fly to
Ranchi to begin a month-long shooting schedule
for a project. I am excited and happy to be facing
the camera after a long break.”

On the work front, Aniruddh would like to do

something to promote his state as a shooting
hub for films. He says, "Rajasthan is
undoubtedly a sought after destination when
it comes to Bollywood film shoots. I want
Rajasthan to be a more film-friendly state -
this has been in my bucket list for sometime
now. I am hoping to meet chief minister Ashok
Gehlot to discuss a possible way to promote
our state as a preferred destination for film
shoots. I am also in talks with the state
tourism department for this, am expecting
something concrete to happen.”

FARMERS PROTEST IN
HARYANA, MANY
INJURED, POLICE
LATHI CHARGES
The agitation against farm laws enacted last year
returned to the spotlight Saturday when Haryana
Police cracked down on farmers in Karnal, leaving
several injured in a lathicharge at the Bastara toll
plaza on the national highway.
The farmers were protesting against a BJP meeting
on the forthcoming panchayat polls — it was being
chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Police detained several people after using force in

the afternoon to disperse a crowd that had
blocked the highway in Karnal.

Condemning the police action, leaders of farm

unions urged farmers across Haryana to protest on
the roads.

By evening, several stretches on the highway and

toll plazas across the state were blocked by
farmers, resulting in traffic snarls.

Traffic was being diverted to alternative routes as

farmers threatened to create more blockades on
highways and toll plazas, not only in Haryana but
in the neighbouring states as well.

As part of their ongoing protest against farm laws

enacted last year, farmers have occupied almost
all toll plazas on national and state highways
across Haryana. They have been allowing traffic
without payment of toll.

But after the incident Saturday at Bastara, toll

plazas in Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panchkula,
Fatehabad, Yamunanagar, Jind, Hisar, Rohtak and
others were blocked.
editor's note
Entertainment industry in this age of

judgemental audiences is suffering a lot.

Recently, Rumy Jafry's Chehre suffered a

lot due to the insensitive audiences and

media verdicts. The makers even had

removed Rhea Chakraborty from the trailers

and cast list, still the media trial that the

actor went through last year is still on the

minds of people. Audience are boycotting

movies which has Rhea Chakraborty in it

but what about the other actors and

makers who have heavily invested in the

films? Films are supposed to be for

entertainment purpose only and not to

judge any actor on the basis of media

reports that announce verdicts even before

courts do.
