ABSTRACT
Recognition of person on the basis of biometric future is an emerging phenomenon
in our society. It Might involve validating personal identity and also other identity. In
examination process we can use the biometric authentication for reducing
impersonation. It is a security process that we release on the unique biological
characteristics of an individual to verify that whether he/she valid for this examination
hall. The System is designed to pass only uses by verifying their finger print module was
designed to scan the finger print, ID number and also other personal details which were
properly saved into database of the system and confirm the eligibility of candidate for
examination. To create a system that is capable of tracking impersonators in the
examination system using the methodology of finger print biometrics. To reduce rate of
corruption in the educational sector and increase the rate of self-confidence on students.

1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to use the fingerprint identification to authenticate the identity of
a private and therefore the main aim of this project is to differentiate between a licensed person
(student) and an imposter before entering the examination hall. Here we proposed a finger print
based exam hall authentication system. The system is meant to permit only users verified by
their fingerprint scan and doesn't allow non verified users. Our system consists of a fingerprint
scanner connected to microcontroller circuit. In registration mode the system allows to register
user's information and save their identity with respective ID numbers within the system
memory. After registration the person must scan his/her finger with the help of the scanner. The
microcontroller checks the person's fingerprint. If the fingerprint valids the motor driver send a
massage to open a door. This ensures only authorized users are allowed to enter the examination
section and unauthorized users aren't allowed to enter the room.

2. BLOCK DIAGRAM

Figure 1
Power supply: The system need regulated DC power supply to power the components and
therefore the power got to be regulated because, this component need stable power supply and
at the certain limit.
Finger print module: Fingerprint scanner uses a light sensitive microchip to supply a digital
image. The working principle of the fingerprint sensor mainly depends on the processing.
Fingerprint processing mainly includes two elements namely enrolment and matching. In
fingerprint enrolling, every user requires to put the finger twice. We can store the pictures in
fingerprint module.

LCD: It nothing but liquid display, we use 16*2 crystal display to point out message for users.

Figure 4
Buzzer: It's used for indication purpose, when fingerprint is not matched with the stored
fingerprint then buzzer sounds.

4. WORKING PRINCIPLE
The working rule of this project is split into the 2 stages.

4.1. Registration Mode

The first step in any biometric system is collection of the biometric getting used. The
device won’t to capture the initial sample will vary counting on the sort of physical trait being
collected. This might be a reader or sensor won’t to scan a fingerprint, before using the system
for the primary time for authentication the user must enroll their biometric sample, a number
is assigned to him/her using the keypad. the amount assigned is automatically stored within
the fingerprint module.

4.2. Verification Mode

In this verification mode the system verifies the scholar by scanning the fingerprint and
compares with the stored fingerprints. If the image is registered, it prints outs the individual
identification no to verify eligibility. When a wrong finger is placed on the module, it scans the
image, sends to the fingerprint module. This browses through the image in its memory and if
nothing is found, it prints out a message stating that to person in question is has no personal
details in its memory. A massage “NOT REGISTERED” is displayed on the screen. In the
circuit diagram microcontroller (PIC18f4520) has connected with the LCD, buzzer, motor.

From the idea of block diagram we connect the serial communication port for interface the
fingerprint module. Input is given to the microcontroller by using seria l communication
transmitter of the serial communication is connected with the receiver of the
microcontroller i.e. pin no.26 and receiver of the serial communication is connected with
the transmitter of the microcontroller i.e. pin no.25. Buzzer is connect ed to the pin no.27.
LCD is connected to the PORT D by using LCD we will display the message. Keypad is
employed to pick the choice add and delete. we will connect the motor driver to the motor
and PORT C of the microcontroller.

6. RESULT
The finger prints of the one that has enrolled and stored finger print within the finger print
module. Person put the finger on the finger print module sensor, firstly sensor will enroll the
finger within the database of the module and stored this end in module and sensor will match
this result which is enrolled during this sensor with the assistance of microcontroller
(PIC18f4520) and when it matches the result then microcontroller will give the instruction to
show on the motor and circuit will open which is predicted result.

7. CONCLUSION
In this paper a Biometric Model for Examination impersonation and Biometric Access may be
a better substitute for the utilization of card in verifying users ‘identity Experience has shown
the porosity of Identity cards in uniquely identifying individual within the face of sophisticated
Forgery technology. The naturalness within the use of fingerprint makes it a reliable access
control technique. the very fact that a user not must carry identity cards and other documents
for identification explain the convenience of use. The Exam hall authentication system using
fingerprints. The implemented minutiae extraction is far more accurate and faster than our
previous feature-extraction. In our proposed system accurately verify the fingerprint is valid
user or not. If valid user then it allows attending the exam else not allowed. In this experimental
result shows the proposed method is suitable for all the authentication based application and
also it robust.

FUTURE SCOPE
• Biometric access using both finger prints and blood flow detection to avoid cloning of fingers
using plastics as described above.
• Finger print based ATM project.
• Finger print based student attendance using GSM, this is to eliminating manual attendance that
any student can sign for the other student.
