CALL FOR APPLICATION:

Trilateral Youth Summit (TYS) 2019

The Trilateral Youth Summit (TYS) was established in 2014, with a goal to promote mutual
understanding and building friendship among Chinese, Japanese, and Korean undergraduate and
graduate students, through group work and cultural exchanges. The program’s main activity is to
conduct a Mock Trilateral Summit, through the process of research, discussions and critically
analyzing topics, such as economy, society, and culture. Every year, the venue of TYS is rotated
among China, Japan and the ROK.

Participants  30 Students (10 each from China, Japan, and the ROK)
Theme  20th Anniversary of Trilateral Cooperation: Seeking the Possibilities
of the East Asian Region
o Rejuvenating Society
Requirements  Undergraduate or graduate school student in Japan (currently
enrolled)
 Ability to speak, listen, read and write in English
 Ability to converse with people with different backgrounds and
values
 Eagerness and willingness to learn from others
 Have high interest in the field of China-Japan-ROK relations, East
Asian relations, regional cooperation, international relations, etc.

Process o Please send 1) Application Form (2 pages) and 2) a valid
passport copy to tys@tcs-asia.org by the application
deadline
 Skype interview after passing document screening
o Date and time will be announced individually
 Accommodation for 4 nights and 5 days, meals, program materials, activity fees, and travel
insurance will be covered. Transportation and meals before and after the program will be on the
participant’s own expense.
 Flight to Tokyo will be from Seoul, ROK. Transportation to Seoul from participant’s respective
residence will be under the participant’s expense.
 Participants must be able to participate throughout the entire program

International Travel Insurance:

 The participant will be covered by insurance prepared by the program during program period.
However, if the participant desires to apply for a separate insurance for transportation before and
after the program period, it must be applied with the participant’s own expense.
 The insurance applied by the program will cover the amount below at the most minimum:
o Injury death insurance: 10 million JPY
o Permanent disability: 10 million JPY
o Medical treatment expense: 10 million JPY
o Disease treatment expense: 10 million JPY
o Rescuer expense: 3 million JPY
