LESSON PLAN N° 5: REVISION

Textbook: Hop Into English A.
Unit: 2: Animal Watch.
Time: 40 minutes. (From 15:30 to 16:10)
Grammar points: Revision: Prepositions of place.
Function: To recognize wild animals and to know how to say where they are.
Topic Vocabulary: Revision: Wild animals (elephant, fish, frog, lizard, monkey,
parrot, snake, tiger, zebra).
Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Lesson aims:
 To provide enough input trough real objects and flashcards so as
learners are able to revise the animals and the prepositions of place.
 By the end of the lessons learners will be able to form oral and written
sentences using “It’s a/ an…” and the wild animals properly.
 By the end of the lesson learners will be able to form oral and written
sentences using the prepositions of place accurately.

WARM UP:
At this stage I will begin the class revising wild animals’ vocabulary and the
prepositions of place. I will use flashcards and real objects. I will use the mother
tongue in order to reinforce vocabulary and grammar. I will begin as follows:
T: Look! (I will show students flashcards. I will pick one)
T: What is it?
Ss: (expected answer): Snake
T: Very good! (I will put the snake in the box). ¿Dónde esta?
Ss: (expected answer): In the box
T: Excellent! ¿Cómo decimos detrás? ¿On o Behind?
Ss: (expected answer): Behind.
T: Very good! Y ¿Cómo decimos debajo? ¿In o Under?
Ss: (expected answer): Under.
T: Very good! Hoy vamos a repasar los animales salvajes y las preposiciones
de lugar.

PRACTICE: ORAL.
At this stage I will have a tree so as students come to the front and place one
animal in the tree in order to say where it is. I will give the example with the help
of the course teacher. I will proceed in the following way:
T: Now, let’s play! Teacher, can you come, please?
T: (I will pick a fish and placed in one part of the tree)
C.T: Where is the fish?
T: The fish is UNDER the tree.
C.T: (she will pick a lizard and placed in one part of the tree)
T: Where is the Lizard?
C.T: I’s IN the tree.
T: Thanks teacher.
T: Is it clear?
Ss: (expected answer): Yes, teacher.
PRACTICE: WRITTEN.
At this stage I will deliver each student a copy in order to complete wit the
correct animal and preposition. The first one will be already so as an example.
Students will work individually and the activity will be checked on the board. I
will say in the following manner:
T: Now, Look! (I will read the activity)
T:
T: Is it clear?
Ss: (expected answer): Yes, teacher.
ACTIVITY 1: LOOK AND WRITE THE CORRECT ANIMAL AND PREPOSITION.

PRODUCTION:
At this stage I will give each student a copy in order to draw their favourite wild
animal in the place they want and complete the sentence. I will give my
example. They will have to work individually and the activity will be checked
orally. I will ask for a volunteer and then I will choose randomly another two
students. I will say as follows:
T: Now, pay attention! (I will read the activity).
T: Draw your favourite animal en cualquier parte de la piedra y debajo
completar la oración.
T: Is it clear?
Ss: (expected answer): Yes, teacher.
