DẠNG 7: “HAVE SOMETHING DONE”
CÁCH DÙNG 1:
- để nói rằng chúng ta sắp xếp cho một người khác làm điều gì cho chúng ta
- chủ ngữ không phải là người thực hiện hành động
- chủ ngữ yêu cầu, sai bảo, hoặc trả tiền cho người khác làm việc đó.
SO SÁNH:
She painted her portrait yesterday. (Cô ấy tự vẽ chân dung của cô ấy).
She had her portrait painted yesterday. (Cô ấy đã sắp xếp để người khác vẽ chân dung cho cô
ấy).
Cấu trúc “have something done” có thể được dùng với các thì khác nhau.
Thì hiện tại đơn She has her portrait painted.
She is having her portrait
Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn
painted.
Thì quá khứ đơn She had her portrait painted.
She was having her portrait
Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn

Ý nghĩa: đáng lẽ phải làm gì, đáng lẽ đang phải làm gì, đáng lẽ ra đã phải làm gì

(=The children should be sleeping).
