I- INTRODUCTION :

The ISOSAMPLE 5100 JAC has been designed to sample oils from
upstream crude-oils to refined products according to the requirements
of the most usual standards :ISO 3171 ; ASTM D4177 ; IP Petroleum.
II- BENEFITS :

A main benefit of ISOSAMPLE 5100 JAC is to

integrate the complete line of features required to keep
sample integrity e.g. :
- Large bore By-pass Loop Isokinetic sampling 1” OD
with large opening size and 2.4 m/s constant velocity
(as per API recommendations)
- or
- True Isokinetic sampling as option with By-pass
Loop controlled identical to the main line velocity .
- Accurate extractor grab size repeatability assured
by the three stage positive displacement principle of
the JISKOOT AUTOMATION cell Model 210
(pneumatic) or Model 710 (electric ).
- Sample extracted from Process Line is directly
stored in the Sample Receiver Chamber integrated
to the Sampler .
- Sample Receiver Chamber is equipped with an
high-shear mechanical mixer complying with ISO
3171 chapter 12.2.2 operated at 3000 rev/mn to
prevent stratification of heavier fractions and to
produce water droplets below 50 µm but not less
than 1 µm during the sample transfer to the 1 liter
portable receiver
- Sample Receiver Chamber is a floating piston
cylinder to suit with split phase crude-oil ( Constant
Pressure Operation ) .
- A feed-back to the Control Unit indicates the
amount of sample contained inside of Sample
Receiver and a local indication of filling is given by
the piston shaft position .
- An other feed-back free contact is issued to verify
II- that pulses have been transferred to the sample
solenoid valve .
1- Sample receiver - Sampling software is in compliance with Service
2- Portable receiver Factor Requirement (ISO 3171 )
3- Control Unit -
III - OPERATING PRINCIPLE :

The ISOSAMPLE 5000 is a Cell Sampler fed

by a 5 m3/h pump (API) or at main line velocity.
At the Sampling start-up, the upper chamber of
sampler (hydraulic chamber) is fully filled with
air ( pneumatic system ) or hydraulic oil
electric system ) and the piston is in down
position .
For each grab operated by the 210 or 710
sample extractor , a calibrated volume of
sample (usually 1cc) is transferred in the
Sample Receiver Chamber .
As the cell extractor operates within a unique
three-stage positive displacement action , the
sampler is absolutely insensitive to the sample
process pressure, viscosity , density and vapor
pressure .
Sample in Receiver Chamber pressurised at
the process pressure is prevented to vaporising
even if the vapor pressure at ambient
temperature exceeds barometric pressure .
For remote monitoring of sample contained
inside of Receiver ,the position of the floating
piston in the cylinder is monitored by a
resistive displacement level transmitter tied to
the piston shaft . No calibration is required
within the life of this component .
At the end of sampling , the stirrer is operated
and a flow trough transportation cylinder of
1liter ( approx. 3 Kg) is filled for lab.
Analysis .
Sampling processing is operated by pilot pulses
issued by separate Control Unit for safe or
flammable area .
Grabs are taken in proportion to flow or to time
.
A permanent comparison between the volume
collected in the Receiver and the batch volume
actually monitored on line is achieved ,
therefore confirmation that sampler extracts a
uniform grabs in flow or time proportional
manner is made .
At the end of sampling , compliance with Service Factor
Requirement (ISO 3171 ) is checked and reported by
alarm contact .
All equipment is explosion-proof certified to ATEX II 2G
EEx d II BT4 ( as option material Class IIC certified can
be supplied) .
