Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background

Field work practice or known as PKL is a program held at Vocational High

Schools (SMK) where this activity certainly involves students. Prakerin or street
vendors are carried out in the corporate or industrial world. With the holding of
street vendors, it is hoped that it can help students to be able to compete and work
optimally, train and hone students' abilities in the world of work, and can increase
students' creativity to develop their talents and interests.

Therefore, through this background, I have been practicing for six months at
MMC Computer located in Blitar. MMC Computer is a course and training
institution engaged in services. This company was founded in 2009 until now.
Through this street vendor, there are many lessons that I can take, besides that I
get a valuable experience that is unforgettable.

1.2 Company profile

MMC Computer has been established since 2009 led by Mr. Sutopo this company
aims to provide the best quality service. MMC Computer is located at Jl. National
III, Kendalrejo, Kec. Talun, Blitar, East Java 66183. Scope of work includes
service, laptop repair, PC printer repair, CCTV installation and finger sprint. The
institution or company has 3 employees.

In doing service, we are usually assigned to repair various damages, for

example when servicing laptops or reinstalling windows and usually we are
assigned to replace keyboards, replace customers' laptop batteries.

I also have to repair PCs, for example replacing a damaged motherboard,

replacing cmos batteries and we also noted for repairing printers, for example
when the printer does not release ink then we will repair it by cleaning, replacing
or at the time of installing our CCTV to determine the right angle when installing.
And MMC Computer Company always provide the best service.

1.2 Purpose

1. Job Training Report at the computer mmc company to train us before entering
the industrial world and is one of the tasks for grade promotion
2. My purpose of internship at MMC Computer is to gain experience and
knowledge in the computer field

3. This practical work report is written to add insight into the experience of
internships, especially those related to the internship program for every student at
SMKN 1 Nglegok in the network engineering department.

1.3 Advantage

1. This Internship Report at MMC Computer is written to get useful information

and knowledge when carrying out internship assignments

2. This report is written to increase my ability or provide insight that I gained

during my internship so that it can be useful for the implementation of the next
internship assignment

3. If this report helps you when you are going to do your internship, I am quite

2.2 Training Outline and Environment

I have spent most of my training period at MMC Computer including in Hardware
and Software Installation, Repair Unit, Network Unit. More specifically, most of
my training was in Hardware Repair, whose mentor was Mr. mada. There is also
Ibu April who also works in the customer service department. Apart from working
in customer service, Ibu April also takes part in repairing equipment when needed.
There is also Ms. Tyas who works in a branch of the company as a shop assistant.
There are several things that are specifically for the first time to be learned and
mastered, these things are
1. Understand the working environment in the Hardware and Software Technician
room
- To increase knowledge and understanding of Hardware and Software
- To help technicians repair PC
- To help technicians repair the printer
- To help technicians install software
 - And try to manage PC and software problems alone under the guidance of a
supervisor

2. Understand on-site work in terms of network installation, Wi-Fi repair and

CCTV installation
- To help technicians classify hardware on installation of Wi-Fi settings
- To help technicians set up network connections by climbing towers
- To help technicians configure network connections
- install the right angle for the location of CCTV etc.

2. 3 Identifying Current Projects and Following Up on Work

First month of December to January:

The first month of training, is to familiarize yourself with the work environment
and condition yourself to get used to the training environment. About a week at
the start of the training period was spent just monitoring how the staff around me
were doing and what they were doing and needed help. At this stage, I can
understand a bit about the general sequence (flow) of the technician process and
the role of the workshop unit. Over the course of a week, I knew little if any three
important parts of the Gamma Computer. The first part is shop and marketing, the
second part is computer hardware and printer software repair, the third part is
CCTV installation and computer equipment delivery. The following week, I was
assigned to a branch and given day and night shifts. MMC Computer has 1 which
is not too far from the center of MMC. We help workers there in providing service
to customers. While at the training site, I learned many things that I didn't have
time to learn at school, and it turned out that the knowledge I got was far from
perfect, making me motivated to add things that I wanted to learn as a provision
for me in the future.

Chapter 3: Closing and Recommendation

3. 1 Conclusion

Carrying out an internship training assignment at MMC Computer gave a distinct

impression and also a learning experience from what I didn't learn at school, I got there,
and it will be a valuable experience for me in between

1. increase independence in terms of the spirit of learning

2. Strengthen metal when entering the industrial world
3. improve the ability of the things learned in the field of majors that are occupied

3. 2 Suggestion or Recommendation

For advice when carrying out field work practices at MMC Computer for

internships, shop opening hours are too early so it is a little difficult to prepare for

practice and during internships at MMC Computer there is very little time for rest

and holidays due to too many requests from customers, in the future to be given

leave and break time for employees to be extended
