Biography

My name is Shirin. I am from Iran but currently living in Texas with my mother and my dog.

I am the only child in my family, but I have cousins in Iran. We moved to Texas when my

mother got a job in the country. I find this place friendly, and I can make friends faster. My

mother and my dog are a massive segment of my life, and they give me a great feeling to

work hard and build a great future. I grew up as a country kid interested in health and sports,

which I participate in most of them. My dog is my pet, and I would spend the whole day

playing with it and giving me the best accompany. Moving to Texas at a young age has made

me appreciate more American culture. This is because the Persian culture differs significantly

from the American.

I am currently attending classes at Patt college, where I am majoring in Diagnostic Medical

Sonography. This involves diagnosing various illnesses using images. I chose this field

because I have always had an interest in understanding how the human body works, and it

will give me exposure to the medical field. I am also a part-time work in one of the health

facilities around my home. The main reason why I attend college is to ensure I have a bright

future in terms of a career. My graduation that is happening in the next eight months is a

breakthrough for achieving my goals. I will also wish to open my clinic and create job

opportunities and internship programs for students in the same field.

During this pandemic, I have not managed to contact my friends and family. This is because

of the limited time due to school and workload. A lot of measures were put in place to ensure

that we do not contract the deadly virus. I am very cautious while in public. I confirm that I

observe the social distance, have my mask on, and avoid crowded places. I also use

recommended sanitizers to ensure that I sanitize my hands regularly. During my free time, I

keep myself busy in the gym to make sure that my body is kept fit and have my immune

system stronger. Most of my friends do not wish to work without being paid in return. This is

one of the unique activities that I have done. Volunteering in the home of the aged and

hospitals makes me feel fulfilled.
