Compare Rizal's education in Ateneo and UST in essay form.

Rizal's comparison of Ateneo de Municipal and Santo Tomas' performance is not realistic, as
both institutions vary in many areas. Santo Tomas' excellence as a university is far from that of a
secondary school such as Ateneo. Santo Tomas could not be compared, because its charter, which was
granted by Pope Innocent X in 1645, rejoiced 34 years after its foundation in comparison to Athenaeus
that was only revised in 1959, a hundred years after its founding in 1859. Santo Tomas is 314 years older
than Ateneo, being a university, so how can we compare a university's unparalleled quality with a newly
founded institution? The Dominicans are also implementing a Europeanized education system in Santo
Tomas, in which every student is expected to be mature and to use its time in comparison with the Jesuits
regulated regimented system, where the time of the student is difficult for the administrators to gain.

Rizal has a difficult existence in Santo Tomas, they say, because he received better rankings there
than in Ateneo, but a single document proves and suffices, which never presents an argument of the
disappointment of Rizal's life in Santo Tomas. Finally, college life is very different from primary and
secondary education. The university was a completely other world. It was different in the nature of a
college. There was more freedom and relatively less regulation over personal and scholastic behaviour.
The comparison of the University of Santo Tomas with the University of Ateneo de Municipal is
therefore never conceivable and expedient until now.

I think it was the family of Rizal that had the most impact on him, because they also affected his
education and his job. For example, while he had a training program in law and he did well in the
humanities based upon his studies, Rizal sincerely wanted to follow law but instead, he accepted
medicine. Although he did not give us a clear picture of the causes, his mother Doña Teodora's falling
vision was constantly recorded and indicated that a key factor in the decision of the medicine was his
mother. The family of Rizal is his greatest impact on religion and education, especially his mother.

He had previously mentioned that when he came home from his study of the ophthalmology in
Madrid, he was thinking of treating his mother's eyes. Again, even his decision to go out to study remains
particularly related to his mother's family. In the closing line of the letter, he wrote to his family in a letter
written on 20 June 1892 saying that he would think of his family and wish for all kind of happiness till the
last minute of his life. We can tell he still think about his family and their goodness till the latter days of
Rizal's life, because his family meant lot to him. Therefore, his family has always been part of all the
victories in his education and profession and his family has inspired even his patriotic engagement, which
makes them the largest impact on the nation's beliefs and views.
