Reflection Essay/Argumentative Essay: “Mahalaga pa ba ang pag-aaral ng

buhay, gawa at mga akda ni Rizal sa pagpapatibay ng damdaming
makabansa at pagpapahalaga sa kalayaan ng mga mag-aaral sa sa
kasalukuyang panahon?"

In the past, Jose Rizal made two significant books that led to the
revolution of the Filipino people against the Spaniards. These books are
namely: Noli Me Tangere and El Felibusterismo. In these books, the main
point was to let the Filipinos know that they should fight back the Spanish
colonization and be patriotic. After learning about the books, the
Spaniards ordered the soldiers to kill Jose Rizal in Bagumbayan or Rizal
Park.
For me, it is significant to teach the works and the life of Rizal. The
generation today does not value the doings of Rizal compared to 100
years ago. Many children know Jose Rizal, however, they don't know what
he did and how his action is significant to the revolution of the Filipinos.
This generation needs to realize how valuable the work of Rizal is and
how he opened the eyes of the Filipinos; to break free from the
colonization of the Spaniards. Teaching this generation also gives this
generation a glimpse of how people live back then. The thing that the
Filipinos need to endure; the torture of the Spanish people and the
hardships of being a slave to the Spaniards.
