WEEK 7 THEORIES AND PRINCIPLES IN THE USE AND DESIGN OF
TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN LEARNING LESSONS

ACTIVITY 7
Discussion Points and Exercise Questions

Direction: Read and understand this module. Provide what is being asked.

TASKS:

1. During this pandemic, what do you think works best for the students?
Synchronous or asynchronous? Why?
- I know we are now in the middle of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and all
our movements and we want to do it is limited whether it is in the work-place,
at home or even at school it must be followed for our own safety. As a student
and now experiencing a pandemic it would be much better for us to just stay
in our homes first for our safety. In order not to make the case of Covid-19
worse. This is to make sure that we are not infected with the disease from the
crowd if ever. And I think Asynchronous is much needed because of this in
order to better alleviate the pain caused by Covid-19. Asynchronous learning
is learning that does not actually happen to the teacher and the learners at the
same time. There is no interaction in real time; the material is later generated
and made accessible for use.Asynchronous? So Asynchronous is more
important for our well-being specially amidst this pandemic.

WEEK 8 TPACK (Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge) and
ASSURE MODEL

ACTIVITY 8
Discussion Points and Exercise Questions

Direction: Read and understand this module. Provide what is being asked.

TASKS:
1. TPACK has become one of the leading theories regarding EdTech and
EdTech integration: research and professional development activities both
draw from it heavily. However, TPACK has remained such a powerful principle
for almost 12 years because the complex constituents described above allow
room for a range of specific educational circumstances.

3. ASSURE model focus on “planning and conducting Instruction that
incorporates media” (Heinich, Molenda & Russel, 1993). Its main perspective
is on how to integrate media (any kind of media) into instruction in a method
capable of producing the desired learning outcomes. In designing a lesson
with the integration of technology, it is crucial to observe a framework that can
act as a guide in its formulation.

WEEK 9 ICT IN VARIOUS AREAS: 21ST CENTURY LITERACY SKILLS

ACTIVITY 9
Discussion Points and Exercise Questions

Direction: Read and understand this module. Provide what is being asked.
Submit your answer through

TASKS:
1. In your own opinion, what are the challenges of integrating literacy skills in
teaching and learning process?
- Literacy skills allow students to seek out information, explore subjects in-
depth and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. Teaching
literacy to students means that they are given the ability to communicate
clearly and effectively and form the foundation of modern life. Students that
are unable to read efficiently fail to understand core topics, score poorly on
exams, and eventually fail to reach educational milestones. When they can not
read well, they become discouraged and frustrated by school, which can
result in college dropouts, poor performance on standardized tests, increased
absenteeism and other negative reactions, all of which can have major and
long-lasting consequences. By teaching students to communicate effectively,
you help create engaged students who learn to love the act of learning. This is
why it is so important to think in your classroom about your strategies for
teaching literacy skills.
2. Explain what is 21st century literacy skills using the concept map.

WEEK 10 ICT IN VARIOUS AREAS: INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN MODEL

ACTIVITY 10
Discussion Points and Exercise Questions

Direction: Read and understand this module. Provide what is being asked.

TASKS:
1. Lots of instructional design models have emerged over the years,
what do you think is the best model that works well for students during
this pandemic?
- For me the TPACK Model was the best model among the presented
concepts in the content. To make technology integration effective in the
classroom, the TPACK framework is useful for the ways in which it
describes the types of information most required. In order to benefit from
it, teachers don't need to even be familiar with the entire TPACK
framework they simply need to recognize that educational activities are
better influenced by knowledge of content-driven, pedagogically-sound
and technologically-forward thinking. This will be a good strategy
especially during this pandemic where students are taught to become
more literate in technological advancement as well as teachers. Students
would be more focused on coping with situations as teachers provide
their students with objective typed content. This is a good way to
exchange learning, and when the pandemic is stopped one day.

WEEK 11 ICT IN VARIOUS AREAS: TECHNOLOGY ENHANCED
TEACHING LESSON

ACTIVITY 11
Discussion Points and Exercise Questions

Direction: Read and understand this module. Provide what is being asked.

TASKS:

1. Why do we need to integrate ICT in the learning process as a key

competence and contributing to the acquisition of the target foreign language?

- ICT needs to be implemented into the learning process as an useful priority

and contribution to the learning of the target second language, as students
can quickly learn to understand second language easily. Language learning is
a complicated practice that takes time, persistence and significant resources
to acquire it. It provides a student-centered learning environment by
introducing ICT into language development. This helps teachers and program
instructors to change types of lesson presentation to inspire students to vary
their interests and to adapt more to individual differences.
