After evaluating the above case study, it looks like after being in
the prison she learned that she must improve her lifestyle and
must value the liberty which she had before she was imprisoned.
It is a normal human tendency to learn after the consequences,
similarly, she learned after being in jail.

1b. Write and explain the problem for Dania in the case as
simply and briefly as you can. (50 words max)
I think that initially Dania was wrong and she deserved to be
held accountable for the crime she had committed. But after
noticing the change in her behavior when she escaped the jail, it
must be noticed that she learned from the imprisonment, indeed
that phase was a learning experience for her to value the
freedom she had before being jailed.

2. What did Dania Drug Dealer say about what happened, what
she did, and what she thinks of the case from Dania’s
side/perspective? (50 words max)
Dania described herself as a recent high school graduate who

Michigan to serve her original prison term.

raising her children. Later the husband said that the arrest “was
the next worst thing to having a death in the family.”

society to send Dania back to prison.

6. What do YOU think about the legal points? What is Your

perspective? What is the effect on society and people living
there? (50 words max)
I think that Dania did make a mistake while she was 19, she
acted wrong under the influence of her immaturity and lack of
guidance from adults. I think that she had to be punished for the
crime she had committed while she was young, but later since
she had changed completely after the escape, she might have
been given a chance to lead a better life.

7. Imagine you are the governor. What do you think should be

done with Dania now?
I would have investigated if she is still involved in the drug
selling work. I would have not neglected Dania's repentance in
the form of volunteering for Common Cause, an organization
that promotes government ethics and accountability. I would
also take testimonials from the family and neighbors. I would
fine her a legal amount to be paid because she broke the prison
to plan an escape, it is an offense. But I might consider allowing
her to live a normal life.
