1. What is rising intonation?

Rising intonation is the pronunciation of a word, in a sentence, with a higher pitch.

2. What does rising intonation mean?

It can be described as the way that the voice raises at the beginning or the end of the sentence.

3. What happen when you use to much rising intonation? Explain.

Intonation can indicate the speaker’s attitude and the way that he feels in a conversation. If we use too much rising intonation, the listener
may be confused and there is not going to be an effective communication at all.

4. What intonation pattern do you use with series or enumeration’

With series or enumeration, the intonation may depend. For example:
 If we have a closed list, we use rise-fall intonation.

I have to buy alcohol, fruits, pencils and a pen.

 If we have an open list, we use rising intonation.

I might be able to help you on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,……..

6. Can you mention some tips for rising intonation?

It can be helpful if you put on practice the rules of rising intonation and try to speak in front of the mirror. Also, try to record your speech in
order to notice the aspects that need to be improved.
