1. How can Social Media boost the electoral campaign of a politician?

As a consequence of the effect of social media on political communication,
politicians and political parties are using social media in new ways. As the world
becomes increasingly connected by the power of the internet, political
movements, including radical groups, have begun to see social media as a major
mobilization and recruiting tool. Social media has the ability to both generate and
disseminate news. Since we are in the twenty-first century and the majority of the
population, especially millennials, rely on social media, social media has become
a huge aid to politicians in their campaigns and platforms, as all people see it all
over the world and social media brings news everywhere in social media.

Analysis

Answer the following questions:

1. What could be the impact of social media, with regards to building the trust and
eventually getting the votes of the people?
Social media has become a turning point in government since social networks
rely on human interaction and their efficacy increases as they expand. On social
media, people will communicate directly with politicians, local groups, and even
entire government departments. It also gives them a chance to react. We also
understand how important this is for the government's benefit or the
advancement of new communication technologies.
Application

I. ESSAY (Not more than 5 sentences)

1. Who won the 2008 USA Presidential Election and how did they utilize the
Internet?
The Internet's role as a tool for involvement and organization was
regarded as the most significant breakthrough in the 2008 US presidential
campaign, and one of the primary strategic factors in Barack Obama's victory
over Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination and the White House. Rather
than a driver of these behaviors, technology is seen as an effective conduit for
preexisting motivations and loyalties.

2. In your own words, what is the most prominent way how social media and the
media companies were able to mold and shape the elections?

When the popularity of the Internet increased, thus the popularity of

Internet communications networks. Internet networks have increased in intensity
over the last decade, allowing for the sharing of information. Online content has
progressed from a raw data source to an interactive medium that enables
members of the public to work on projects by sharing their insights and opinions.
To provide information about themselves, governments and their agencies have
used digital technology such as websites. As the use of social media expanded,
e-governments increased their communication with the public by using blogs,
social networks, and other online applications. Personal growth is another
positive pattern.

3. What’s the significance of diligence to your daily life on social media? Explain at
least 3 significance in terms of personal, private and political affairs.
Social media has taken over most people's lives. People are affected in a
variety of ways as information is spread on social media. Staying in contact with
our loved ones is the most wonderful aspect of our lives, and social media has
aided this process. It played an important role in my own life because we kept in
touch by using social media as a source of information. The majority of politicians
are using social media to create a political forum that they can post and see on
social networking sites.

4. If you’re given a chance to be a politician, how could you utilize social media to
provide you the exposure that you need to win the hearts of thousands and even
millions?
Since most of us in this generation uses social media, we millennials need
to examine each platform because not everything that is posted on social media
sites is true; some of it could be false, serving as black propaganda to the
opposing party. Since we are in the twenty-first century, we must understand and
know the people we must target. The majority of people see politicians as
famous. Sara Duterte is a good example of how we need to know our target
people and electorate in order to succeed in politics.
