Buffer Springs

Offers unsurpassed energy absorption and reliability under intense conditions

Buffers with Surlon-Durel polymer springs grant the highest security against rolling stock
damages while ensuring exemplary performance. Installed in side or central buffers, Surlon-
Durel buffer springs provide amplified security and powerful behaviour owing to their
progressive spring features. The distinctive damping capability of our polymer springs reduces
the impact energy by over 50 per cent, resulting in an increase in both travelling ease and the
safety of freight cars, locomotives, coaches and special rail cars – an increasingly critical feature
with respect to the secure transportation of dangerous goods. Surlon-Durel buffer springs are
also used in crash buffers.

Surlon-Durel high-performance springs are built of thermoplastic polymers. Their faithful quality
ensures the most competent and reliable buffer operation. Particularly, due to their security
under severe conditions, Surlon-Durel springs have been accredited in many countries and are
now used across the globe.
