Two. Technical projects for ZJ30/1700CZ Truck-mounted drilling rig

1. ZJ30 truck-mounted drilling rig is self-compelled type, and uses two sets of CAT diesel engine
with two sets of Allison transmission, the outputted power is through the transfer box, then outputted
by two ways. One is transmitted to angle gear box to drive the drawworks by chain in order to realize
the hoisting work. At the same time, the power continues passing to the rotary table gear box to drive
the rotary table. The other way is used on the carrier to drive the truck.
2. The drawworks adopts the double drum type: one is main drum and the other is sandline drum, the
power is passed to the drum by the chain drive system. Its brake system is band brake and the
auxiliary brake is Wichita 325 hydromatic brake with separate cooling water tank.
3. The mast is two sections telescoping type, front lean with guy lines, the mast height is 38m (125ft)
and its effective height is 32m(105ft), it adopts hydraulic hoist and telescoping.
4. The drill floor adopts parallelogram structure and its working height is 6m (19.5ft) and the head
way is 4.9m (15.9ft) high to meet the installation requirement of 35-35 series BOP: one annular type,
one double ram type, one single ram type together with one drilling spool and one casing head.

3.2.3 Transmission device
Transfer box
The power runs in two ways after through the transfer box, one part power transmits to the angle
gear box to drive the drawworks by chains to finish the hoist work, at the same time, the power goes
on to transmit to rotary table gear box by main drum to drive the rotary table, the other power
transmits down to the two output outlets to drive the front and rear axles by transmission shaft.

Compound box
It is gear compound device and connected by two sets gear boxes with power clutch and two
universal shafts. It consists of one pair of spiral gears, input and output shafts, power clutch, bearing,
box body, etc. Its special structure makes smooth drive, light noise and convenient operation and
maintenance.

Rotary drive box
The rotary table gear box takes off power from the drawworks, and change the power direction to
transmit to the rotary table. It mainly consists of clutch, input and output chain wheels, output and
input shafts, one input spiral gear, two output spiral gears, input bearing house, gear shifting
machine, box body, bearings, reverse torque release device, Axial push disc clutch ATD318H etc.
The power is input by the input chain wheel to the output shaft through the spiral gears after being
engaged by the axial push disc clutch ATD318H. The rotary direction of the two output gears is
opposite. The forward and reverse function is taken by the clutch system. The power from the output
flange is passed to the rotary table through the transmission shaft and sloping chain box.
There is one reverse torque release device on the end of the output shaft to release the distort energy
produced by the DP after the clutch is shifted and prevent the DP rotated in the other direction.

The drawworks mainly consists of the frame, shield, sand reel, main drum, brake system, auxiliary
brake, etc.
The main drum surface has LEBUS rope groove that can keep the wireline in order and prolong the
life of wireline. The main drum adopts circulating water-cooling method, its brake rim has
circulating water jacket and water pipeline, and makes a water cooling circulating to acts on the
brake rim by the water taps on both ends of drum shaft. The over-reel valve crown-o-matic are

mounted on the main drum to limit the hook’s journey and avoid the collision between the hook and
crown block.
The brake of main drum and sandline drum is band brake,auxiliary brake adopts Wichita 325
pneumatic water cooling thrust disc brake.
The drawworks conforms to API Spec 7K《Rotary drilling rig specification》

Mast is two sections telescope-feed, front lean, front open, with guy line, hydraulic hoist, hydraulic
telescoping.
Mast mainly consists of crown block, upper section, lower section, tightening device of upper and
lower sections, tong balance device, standpipe, ladder, racking platform, mast base, mast support, flat
roof, hook block bracket, etc.
Crown block is integrated box type with 5x6 rope system. It consists of crown frame, fast line
sheave, crown sheave, sandline sheave, hydraulic winch sheave, shafts, support seats and bearings,
etc. Crown sheaves group is composed of six sheaves, one is fastline sheave, one is deadline sheave
and the other four is put on one shaft as crown sheaves. Meanwhile, there is one sandline sheaves
used with the sandline drum as one system. There is buffle on the wheel seat to prevent any jump of
the drilling lines and the sheaves are with grease nipple used to fill the grease. There is safety
handrail on the crown platform.
The main body of mast is rectangle steel pipe welded joist structure, including upper section and
lower section. The mast base mainly consists of base, connection pins, mechanical jack and bracket,
etc.
It conforms to API Spec 4F 《drilling and workover mast, substructure specification》.

Technical charateristics
The substructure adopts parallelogram structure, equipped with swing board, handrails, ladders,
escaping slide way, climbing slope chain box, DP ramp and catwalk, rig base, etc. There is also one
rat hole and one mousehole. The handrails height is 1200mm and there is narrow board at the bottom
section. There are two tong posts installed on the substructure and for convenient installation of the
BOP units, there are also these equipments coming with the substructure: one trolley, two 10t manual
hoisters and single rail dolly. Its working height is 6m (19.5ft) and the head way is 4.9m (15.9ft) high
.
It conforms to API Spec 4F《drilling and workover mast and substructure》.
RG will provide the drawings of the sleeper of the substructure, and the user will make the sleeper by
themselves.

Technical charateristics:
Crown block consists of base, pulley, shaft, bearing, hydraulic winch pulley, etc. is multiple-shafts
structure.
The whole fixed pulley group is connected with crown block base by bolts, the pulley is cast steel
parts, and have a static balance test, the rope groove arc of pulley conforms to API RP 9B
requirement, suits the wireline, and the rope groove have a surface quench treatment. The crown
block shaft has a heat treatment and defect detection.
The fixed pulley group consists of 6 pulleys, adopts multiple shaft structure, the fastline pulley and
deadline pulley have each one shaft, four middle pulleys use one shaft, the rope baffle is installed on
the pulley to keep the rope from jumping out of the groove. The shaft end is set with grease nipple
through which the grease can be injected into the bearing.
The platform is set with handrails, the platform base is integral structure, and is set with anti collision
rubber under the base.

Technical characteristics:
Hook block is a combination of traveling block and hook, and its whole length shorten 18% relative
to single part connection model. It mainly consists of top cap, pulley, shaft, left and right side board,
double rows cone roller bearing, central shaft, spring, middle body, tightener, hook, lock arm of
elevator bails, brake ring, locating block, two lines push column roller bearing, etc.
Due to with strong spring, the hook can self reset and buffer the shake. Swiveling the tightener can
let hook block lock or rotate freely in one position. When the main hook hangs the swivel, the hook
mouth is close and locked and not open in work.

Technical specs:
Swivel, used for carrying out the circle operation during drilling process, is mainly composed of two
parts, that is, the fixed parts hanging on the hook block and the rotary parts connected to the drilling

Technical characteristics
Rotary table mainly consists of base, main, auxiliary bearings, level shaft assembly, locking device,
turn plate, top cap, etc. Big gear and small gear transmission system adopts spiral cone teeth in order
to drive calmly and big load capacity. The tightener is easy to operate and safe and reliable, and can
bear heavy impact.

3.3.11 Pneumatic system
The pneumatic system includes air exhaust pipes, air source pipeline, air compressor pipeline, brake

pipeline for carrier, auxiliary brake pipeline of drawworks, shift control pipeline of torque converter,
shift pipeline, crown block anti collision and reset pipeline, emergency brake control pipeline,
engage-disengage control pipeline of oil pump, remote control trip pipeline ， throttle flameout
pipeline and relevant parts. It is also mounted with safety valves （ pressure 1.05MPa ） and over
pressure self-exhaust switch for air, water and stores energy for whole system to confirm to supply
the pressure source to the pneumatic system and engine start.
Compressed air supplied by air compressor enters the air storage through the drier, then goes across
adjusting pressure valve, oil water separator, oil sprayer, alcohol anti-gelling set, etc. after air source
treatment device, it enters the main system of air line for the whole unit. All the pneumatic control
valves are centralized on the driller’s tank and in the cabin, all the valves parts of driller’s tank are
imported.
