Max's Work Ethic Frame

It's also a general frame, but with a stronger focus on work

ethic. I adhered to this one whenever I was feeling stressed,
overworked or „scared“ about the future and the
overwhelming amount of responsibilities. At that time all I did
was gym, working on my poker career, reading, meditating
and game > quite the work load to squeeze into 24h. It deals a
lot with setbacks in poker but can be applied just as well to
any other working environment. - Max

It's very interesting to me to listen twice as much as I speak

myself.

Holding eye contact creates a great connection between me

and the person I'm talking to, it's a great feeling.

I always seek frst to understand, then to be understood.

I'm always keeping my sense of humor, no matter how bad or

good my mood is.

I'm looking forward into the future with eager and a feeling of
content, there's good times ahead.

It's better to be in a bus than in a van, and it's better to be IN a

van than UNDER a van, you know what I'm saying? (This is

actually a quote that struck me quite deeply. It's by Nathen
Maxwell, bassist of Flogging Molly. I interviewed him back in
the days when I'd still do music journalism. It was the answer
to whether or not he hated touring in a shitty, cramped bus.)

I'm happy about any kind of criticism, no matter how bad it is.

If I feel ofended, then it's just my ego, I'm better than that. I
remain relaxed and keep listening attentively.

Whenever I have the feeling the day is going by too fast or

everything needs to be done right now, I immediately relax,
remain cool and focus on the task at hand... with a good
feeling, full of optimism and confdence.

My full focus is on the task at hand, other things will be dealt

with afterwards.

If I lose a poker tournament, it's totally fne. I'm always

learning and see it as a great opportunity to have gained
valuable lessons. Many times I even fnd it funny.

If I'm losing a poker hand, even though the odds have been on
my side, it's totally fne. Poker includes a lot of luck and I can
look at it with a relaxed manner. I don't have any power over
the outcome of the cards and always give my best.

The moment I'm done with poker I continue with my day, no

matter how well or how bad it went. My day continues as
usual and I'm happy about having learned a lot again.
