Venice – Places to Visit

1. Grand canal

The best way to take in the Grand Canal is on board a vaporetto (Venice’s ubiquitous
waterbus). Vaporetto tickets should be purchased before boarding at most stops, or at
VeneziaUnica offices. If you board without a ticket at a stop where they aren’t sold, you
can buy a single-trip ticket on board. Tickets are for single trips (€7 – valid 60mins on
multiple boats), 24hrs (€20), 48hrs (€38), 72hrs (€40) or seven days (€60). 

2. Hire of the gondola, for six passengers or less. [expensive option]

8am-7pm €80 for 30 mins;
7pm-8am €100 for 35 mins.

3. Rialto Bridge // Ponte di Rialto

oldest bridge across the canal, and was the dividing line for the districts of San
Marco and San Polo.

4. Bridge of Sighs (optional)

 The name sighs indicate only the last breath of the prisoners in the free world because,
once convicted in the kingdom of Dogi they never could go back.

5. Piazza San Marco

the principal public square of Venice, Italy, where it is generally known just as "the Piazza".
All other urban spaces in the city are called "campi"

6. Campanile di San Marco //Bell tower of Saint Mark

  Get a bird’s-eye view of Venice from the city’s tallest building
 From 9 a.m. the morning until 7 p.m. in the evening.
 8 Euros per person -buy ticket in advance to avoid long queue

7. Saint Mark's Basilica //St Mark’s Church [FREE]

*Skip the line reservation online to avoid long queue: €2.00 per person (VAT exempt)
–Clothes be appropriate for a place of worship;
– You cannot enter the basilica with luggage, backpacks or bulky bags, necessary to
deposit any luggage at the Ateneo San Basso. (FOC)
–Photos and filming are forbidden;
– Loud explanations are not allowed

8. Palace Scala contarini del Bovolo [FREE]

 Ranked as one of the best hidden sights to track down in Venice
