Problems:

All the company faces many problems throughout, but Flipkart started facing problems when
Amazon entered the Indian market. It has to expand its business to stay in the market and
increase its present share in the market. Additionally, let’s see what problems does customer has
to face who trusted Flipkart as a best online shopping app.

The problems faced by people while using Flipkart are:-

• It takes more than the usual time to deliver

• Many a times it delivers wrong items.
• As Flipkart doesn’t deliver to rural areas, the people living in that area didn’t find it
useful at all.
• Last but not least, one of the problems with Flipkart is the company neglect its
employee’s problem and doesn’t make any changes to over any situation.

Flipkart reveal that there were very less people who were affected with these problems as people
living in urban area got their items delivered on time. May be, it is not every time that the wrong
item being shipped just in some cases. Due to its small networks, the items are not being able to
ship at places located in rural areas, and this is what the company lacks. Moreover, to keep going
the way it was, every company has to make some changes according to the problems they are
facing and listen to the employees as they are more aware about it. This is where Flipkart again
fails, which causes more obstacles for the organisation to achieve its target.

it at the time of lockdown in India. All the business has to face many problems to achieve its

so that it can work according to fixed delivery date and time.

The company Faced Many problems related to wrong items being delivered, so to decrease the
amount of complaints it started to focus more on accuracy and all the order is being verified by
its employees before been shipped.

All the threats and weakness has to be overcome to meet the objective of the company in this
challenging environment. Further, the role of the top level management and HR department is
important as they will define the new strategies of the Company. Employees plays an important
role as well for the development of the company so to achieve all the objectives a company
should train their employees about the new strategies and help them to over come internal
resistance.

6

7
Challenges:

Aravind Surendra, Principal Program Manager at Flipkart says “Our supply chain, eKart,

warehouse and hub operations — everything came to a standstill,”. He also added that the

COVID-19 crisis had put them in a fix when his team was informed about the nationwide

lockdown that was enforced to curb the impact of the pandemic in March 2020. The Program

Management team at Flipkart faced the task of uniting cross practical groups in driving the

solutioning, planning and launching of quick-fire solutions to over 250 million online customers,

employees, and the entire Flipkart seller community- everyone of whom were currently restricted

to their homes.

The team faces challenges such as:

• How to plan collaboratively when working remotely?

• How to ensure communication happens seamlessly across teams?
• How to ensure that teams integrate to work towards common and aligned goals?
• How to accomplish all of this while working from home and to meet short deadlines?

Communication was the key. They empowered and utilized innovation to remain associated with

insignificant interferences. Their main motive was to ensure that the customer’s needs were

fulfilled and essential products would be delivered safely to them as soon as possible. Moreover,

the severe limitations on cash payments for deliveries in red zones constrained the group to think

out of the box. They started to deliver products in green zones who pre-paid digitally for their

orders. Once the superior authorities gave the green signal for deliveries to resume in red zones,

customer orders with essential items too were introduced to the contactless payment model and

soon delivered.

8
Conclusions:

With the digital revolution at its speed e-commerce has acquired a serious fame throughout the

long term. It has created a lot of new opportunities for the consumers as they have more

alternatives to browse as per their inclinations.

In this pandemic also, they tried to provide the best service possible to fulfill the customer’s

needs. In conclusion, they tried to solve the problem and delivered the product to clients as soon

as it was possible. The digital penetration in India is going up and most places have web access,

and that helped them. Also, the COVID-19 crisis forced them to come up with many innovative

ideas.

Recommendation:

We would recommend that Flipkart should keep up with its fast-paced working environment and

continue to provide delivery services to customers safely.

Also, we like to recommend that in order to achieve more sales they need to drive higher traffic

towards their products. The easiest way to sell the products is through Product Listing Ads.
