ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
PAGE 1
I would like to thank The Citizens Foundation for giving me an opportunity
to give back to society. My internship was of 6 weeks teaching math at TCF
(IBA Main Campus). I am thankful to the great people I met during my
internship I learnt a lot from them. I would like thanks each of those
individuals who helped me in accomplishing my task including Mr. Faraz
Ahmed, Mr. Ahsan Riaz Awan and Ms. Muskan Amjad, who maintained the
friendly environment in which all social interns were more comfortable
working together. A special thank you to those who encourage me the
opportunity to learn and work here. I am sure I will benefit other students
whatever I learn here teaching TCF students and enhance my skills more in
future.
I especially want to thank the Ex Dean and Director IBA, Dr. Ishrat Hussain,
who made the internship a requirement for all IBA students. If he had not
made this a necessary requirement for getting a degree, I doubt the students
of IBA would have ever been able to see how enthusiastic students of the
underprivileged backgrounds of Pakistan are to get education.

TCF’S PROFILE AND OVERVIEW:
ABOUT:
The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a non-profit organization set up in 1995
by a group of citizens who wanted to bring about positive social change
through education. After 24 years, TCF is currently one of Pakistan's driving
associations in the field of education for the less privileged. The vision of
TCF is to remove barriers of class and privilege and to make the citizens of
Pakistan Agents of Positive Change. We believe that access to basic
education is the right of each individual and not a privilege. Apart from
following the regular curriculum, we focus on the character building of
students to equip them with high moral values and confidence. To achieve
these goals, TCF is constantly surveying education-deprived locations in
Pakistan to extend its network.
TCF embeds its purpose fabricated schools in the core of urban slums and

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Students apply for social internship at ADP are appointed to different
institutes and assigned different duties. I was appointed as Mathematic
Instructor at IBA Main Campus Karachi. My duties included:
MATHEMATIC INSTRUCTOR:
I was appointed as a Theory Mathematic Instructor of Level-II and given the
responsibility to conduct everyday lecture and make them prepare for their
respective aptitude test. My job was to coordinate with the Class executive
of my section and update with daily progress. My duties included to make
quizzes with answer keys, practice, material, practice sessions, and
individual assistance to students. In the beginning it was not easy to handle a
lot of students at a time, but I gave extra time and took extra classes to
ensure that everyone is getting the concepts.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
I have learned a lot in many ways. The first I get to realize that teaching
mathematics and its concepts to others is not an easy job as I have in mind
that I am good at math but when it comes to class teaching math, you have to
face a lot of different approaches to same problems so for every class I have
to make notes from different books and sources and with many approaches
so that if someone does not understand a general method there should
always have many approaches the same task. This internship made me a
person who can work under pressure and how to engage a pool of people. I
was very bad at decision making but during this time every student a lot of

situations, so they approach us for guidance and that was their future I
consider situations very carefully and guide them how to cope with these in
a good way. I have also learnt how to work in a team and go with one
mission. I feel more confident talking to others. As a social intern I
understand that every person needs this community to stand out and play
their part for improvement and put all our efforts into it. So I just want these
kids to make the best out of their oopportunity to a better future.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Alt Though everything is going smoothly but I would recommend some points
which will make it better.
• The time span is not enough for students to prepare for top universities as
IBA/IOBM etc.
• ATL’s and instructors should discuss things on weekly basis headed by
Team Lead because there a lot of misunderstanding going on if they don’t
have good connections among them it leaves a bad impression on students.
