Introduction:

Snack food, when we talked about this word, A snack is a small portion of food generally eaten
between meals. Snacks comes in a variety of forms packaged, processed, home-made, roadside.
Snacks foods are typically designed to be portable, quick and satisfying. There are various snack
preferences in different Cultures like in western peanut bar, wedges, pretzels, popcorn are snack
food preferences where as in Asia Idle, cake, yogurt, pakora are the snack food preferences. Here
we are going to talk about snack food preferences in Bangladesh.
Nowadays, In Bangladesh people think more about what they eat in snack time to maintain a
healthier lifestyle. Usually in Bangladeshi food culture there are three main meals along with that
people prefer two times snacks on a day and sometimes snacks took the place of meals for time
constrain lifestyle in urban areas of Bangladesh. Existing snack food preference of Bangladeshi
people are Biscuit, Chips, Cookies and cakes also people like to have street food item as snacks
like Jhalmuri, Fuchka, singara, samusa etc.
With the widespread awareness about health and fitness, eating healthy has become prevalent on
consumer’s priority list in Bangladesh. While Bangladeshi consumers prefer to eat three big
meals a day, there is a changing trend towards eating 5-6 small meals a day which includes small
snacks in their daily diet. Keeping that in mind, it’s our mission to provide healthy, nutritious
snack suggestion that is kind of go snack. In busy schedule sometimes people missed their meals
but if they miss out there will be nutritious gap throughout the day. Snacks that will packed up
with goodness of fiber, protein and healthy multi grains, instead of overdosing fast food snack
track, we call it a more complete snack as well meals performance. Snacks that will keep people
fuller for longer without adding unnecessary calories to their body. We plan to launch a snack
product with special attention of people who wants a quick meal that is healthy and people who
are our nutrition-savvy consumer in Bangladesh.
Objective of the report
The key objective of the report is to find out the consumer behavior or perspective on snacks
food preferences in Bangladesh. Usually snack culture is popular in urban lifestyle for busy work
schedule and there are people who needs more nutrition for workout purposes. That is why we
would be writing this report highlighting the market of protein bar in terms of consumer
preference.
Bangladesh have most diversified food culture and present generation is health conscious, their
preference different sorts of food and different nutrients accommodates as a snack in their
regular food chain. The combination of right nutrition food can contribute a better performance
in their lifestyle. We would be conducting the research in Bangladeshi consumers to determine
their snack choices and gather feedback on that.
We will be segmenting the population demographically and geographically. For primary research
we will be preparing a questionnaire with multiple choice questions where our focus would be to
find out target market and the demand for particular snacks and current market for snack foods.
We will also conduct our secondary research and try to find previous research and findings.
After the research we will be accommodating our research findings and present them statically
and provide necessary feedback. We will conduct comparative analysis between existing snack
preferences and present snack preference margins and its potentials.
At the end we will conclude the research report with the valuable feedback and attach the survey
questionnaires in the appendix with references.

Rationale of the report


Snacks food represents the aspects of culture also reflects the socio-economic state of a nation.
Now day’s Bangladesh has been adopting new snacks item that will contain nutritious benefits,
for quick energy boost up they like to have a packaged protein bar. Currently, protein bar as a
snack item is very popular to the young generations of Bangladesh. So, there is no doubt people
have granted protein bars warmly. Now the question arise why people prefer protein bars as a
snack item in Bangladesh?
The reason for conducting this research report is to find the answer to this question. It also
identifies the significance of protein bars. In a word, this research has been prepared to provide
some ideas about the specific snack preference among the people of Bangladesh.
