Police Check Post Necessity for Dhaka City

As the capital of Bangladesh and ensure the overall security of the country, there is a need for
police check post, although the issue is questionable in the light of various incidents.

Drug shipments were disrupted in the capital due to police check posts. Drug in Bangladesh
mainly come through borders of foreign countries and the destination of these drugs is mostly
Dhaka, because these are sold at high prices in capital. These drugs bring down the youth of the
country and above all the social status, but due to police check post, large consignments of drugs
are seized which helps to keep the criminal activities in Dhaka stable.

The country overall controlled from Dhaka city and it plays a role providing security to high-
ranking individuals and diplomates. For providing security Higher officials and diplomates,
political situation remain stable also Dhaka’s security reputation abroad is intact.

In some extended in police check post, police actions rush and unprofessional. Ordinary people
are often harassed at police check points, and in the context of Bangladesh, false allegations of
smuggling are exposed for taking bribe and there are also many allegations of torture at the
police check post. But for a police check post, someone is prevented from entering the Dhaka
city with illegal weapons, and if there is a pre-planned attack in the capital, it is possible to
prevent it by setting up more police check posts than necessary.

Police Check posts are set up for the overall security of the country and the capital Dhaka.
However, from time to time there are some unpleasant incidents but that can be easily avoidable
through surveillance and preventive measures.
