for the First Annual Conference of the Society for Economics Research in India for Doctoral Students in India

The Society for Economics Research in India (SERI) is pleased to announce a call for papers for its First Annual
Conference dedicated to doctoral students. The SERI-D conference aims to offer a platform for advanced
graduate student to present papers that are close to completion for focused feedback and inputs that will enable
them to take these to publication in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. We welcome papers
from all fields within economics and papers that are theoretical, applied, or empirical.

Format: The conference will consist of 10-12 paper presentations for about 45-50 minutes followed by a detailed
discussion led by a discussant.

Eligibility: Doctoral students registered in Indian universities, who work in economics and related areas.

Selection process: Submissions will be reviewed in the first instance by the organizing committee; the final
selection of papers will be made in consultation with SERI members with the relevant domain expertise. Our
intent is to ensure a mix of papers representing diverse fields, methods and institutions, without compromising
on academic standards. The final selection will be announced on November 15, 2021. Selected presenters will
have an opportunity to submit updated versions of their papers by November 30, 2021.

Instructions
1. Please submit papers to https://forms.gle/fDHSE3jQhyBJSM136 by October 15, 2021, 11.59 p.m. IST
2. Papers should be in PDF format and should include any supplementary materials that are essential for
a fuller understanding and appreciation of the paper. All materials should be merged into a single PDF
file and named using the following format <<SURNAME_INSTITUTION >>.pdf
3. For papers co-authored with supervisors, we request you to submit a letter from the advisor stating
that the student has made a substantive and major contribution to the paper.
4. A paper that has been presented in the SERI Annual Conference in the past will not be considered for
SERI-D.
