FOR ELEMENT3D V2

BUTTON PACK ONE

PAGE 01

INSTALLING:

- Navigate to the downloaded folder and at first copy the 3D files in the „E3D Models“ folder
into your own Element 3D models folder
(usually in the folder /Users/.../Documents/VideoCopilot/Models/MyModels/...)

- the textures are loaded into the AE-project file as normal footage and there they are linked to
Element 3D as a PreComp. Of course you can just copy that files into the same folder as the mo-
dels and make presets out of it directly in Element3D UI and save it into your materials folder
of Element3D.
(I linked it over AE because of the faster drag and drop possibilities of precomps so that you dont have
to open up the E3D UI all the time to change the Button-Design)

- the E3D models are C4D files - especially the baked animation profit by it. Faster and
intuitive working/rendering. Lower file size and unlike a obj sequence you can use real motion blur.

- for relinking files or other problems with Element3D just visit the help-site of VideoCopilot
(https://www.videocopilot.net/docs/element2/)

PROJECT FILE:

- Navigate to the downloaded folder and open the folder „Button Pack One AE“

- the project setup is very simple - in folder „01_COMPS/RENDER“ you find the Render-Comps for
all premade scenes. Not for all there are HQ and MQ (High Quality and Mid Quality) Comps
(In the HQ Comps the AO is set to RTAO and the camera depth of field is turned on
In the MQ Comps the AO is set to SSAO and the camera depth is turned off)

- in folder „01_COMPS/SUBCOMPS“ you find all Texture-Comps i used for the front design of
the button and the material textures like scratches and metal. Every MainComp has his own
Texture-Comps for the front design and is named like the MainComps in ...V01,...V02, etc.
The material comps are used for all equally
(In E3D effects panel you find the linked comps under „custom layers / texture maps“)

- to change the front design just open up the comp in the folder „01_COMPS/SUBCOMPS/Tex_
Comps/Button_Front“ and just drag and drop a new one or adjust the four designs as you like
(In the MainComps the Texture-Comps are hidden - deactivate the Shy-Layer-Icon to make them
also visible in the comp view)

- the same for the material texture comps - just adjust the „turbulence noise“ effect so that you
create other metal surfaces or scratches for the front.

- of course you can use in Element3D preset materials from your material browser and just drag
and drop it onto the respectiv part

PROJECT FILE:

- the premade scenes have a very simple setup and are almost identicaly except the typo animation

- from top to bottom you have a Letterbox-layer which you can turn on or off as you like
- a Vignette-Layer which you can also turn on/off as you like to
- On the CC_NOISE-layer you can adjust the color and gamma and the noise on top of it all
- then there is the camera and it control-layer - all adjustments in POS and ROT you should
make over the control-layer at first
- two lights for E3D to lighten the scenery (Parallel Light and a ambient ligth - make adjustments)
- E3D - layer with two controls - one for the buttons and one for the floor
- on the BG-layer you can adjust the color of the Background over the effects panel
- normally not visible because of the shy-layer activation you see the linked texture comps which
are linked to E3D

ELEMENT 3D ADJUSTMENTS:

- i used a basic enviroment map from the included ones under presets in the E3D UI („BASIC 2K“)
(of course you can use your own enviroment map to lighten the scene)

- then i used a preset lighting under the render settings of E3D „Lighting“ - mostly the „Dramatic“
or the „Natural“ one to lighten the scene as well
(just play around with other settings here to get your unique look)

- the buttons have spherical reflection turned on and the floor has a mirrored reflection setting
(in the E3D UI you can change these settings for render speedup)

- for the baked animation you can adjust the playback speed directly inside the UI of E3D or under
the effects panel under the respective group „Particle Look / Baked Animation“ and animate some
cool slow motions

TEXT COMPS:

- in the Text-Comps you can just add your own text and it should be fine
(on the comp itself are pos keyframes - adjust these keyframes if your text gets too long or the spacing isnt
right for you after changing the text)
