This document contains some important information about the walk, please see below:

PLEASE NOTE – All participants should have a sponsorship/registration form which you
either collected in person from the temple/centres or received via email. If you are
intending to bring your family/friends (including minors) with you, please make sure they
have all been registered and given this form. Each form has a unique number which is your
walker ID. So it’s very important that you bring this form with you on the day of walk.
 
Walk Details
 
Date – Sunday, 12th September 2021
Registration desk opens between – 9:30 am to 10.30 am. You can come anytime
between this time to register and start your walk.
Walk starts at – 9.30 am. Participants will walk on footpath in groups of not more
than 5 or 6.
Distance – 8.5 miles approx.
Route –Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Colton Street, Leicester TO Shirdi Sai Baba Temple,
Colton Street, Leicester. Yes, it starts from Temple and finishes at Temple.

Getting to starting point

 By Public Transport
 
Visit http://www.choosehowyoumove.co.uk/jp/ and enter in From box your location
or postcode in Leicester and in To box enter LE1 1QB. This will give you various
options to reach the Temple/Start Point.

 By car
 
Sat Nav – LE1 1QA.
Please be advised there is very limited public parking on Colton Street.

Toilets
 
There are public toilets available along the route. Please refer to the map.
 
On the day of Walk
 
 - Please bring along completed sponsorship/registration forms with any sponsorship
monies you have collected to the registration desk. You can also ask your friends and
family to sponsor your walk through Just Giving:

-          Please provide full details including name and address of the sponsor and please tick
the gift aid check box (if applicable). It doesn’t cost anything extra to the sponsor.
-          If for any reason you are unable to participate for the walk, please call at
07950516244 ASAP with your Name.
- Once you have reported at the registration desk, you will receive a walker’s kit
         

which includes: draw string bag, a route map, t-shirt, and water. Please note only
registered walkers will be given the t-shirt. If you wish to bring your friends/family to
the walk, they would ALL need to register first at the desk by paying £5 each. T-Shirt
may not be guaranteed.
-          Refreshments will be provided at the start of the walk and at various check points
along the route.
-          Please ensure you follow the route and report at each check point. This allows us to
keep track of the walkers. Please do not use mobile maps for directions. If you wish
to discontinue the walk, please inform the nearest check point or any of the
emergency numbers printed on the map/badge.
-          Please abide Traffic Rules and Regulations at all times during the walk. Use
pedestrian crossings and walk on footpath at all times. Take precautions from any
pet animals like Dogs etc on the route.
-          Under 16’s should be always accompanied by an adult throughout the route.
-          Please do not throw any rubbish on street during the walk. Please use public dust
bins or the bins provided at check points.
-          In case of an emergency or for any assistance, please contact the emergency
numbers printed on the map/badge.
-          We advise you wear comfortable shoes for the walk. As of now forecast for the day
is scattered showers and at 16 deg. So please wear appropriate gear.

By Baba’s grace we raised approximately just over £20,000 from last’s years ‘Walk for Sai’
done in Leicester, London and Reading. The funds were used for infrastructural
development of the Temples including support to events like Baba’s Punyatithi, Temple’s
Anniversary, Shri Ram Navami, Shri Guru Poornima and Dream Sai project.
