Mass air NG
CHECK POWER SUPPLY. c Check the following:
flow connector
1. Turn ignition switch to ‘‘LOCK’’ position. ● 10A fuse in fusible link
2. Disconnect mass air flow sensor harness holder
connector. ● Operation, of engine con-
3. Turn ignition switch to ‘‘ON’’ position. trol module relay.
4. Check voltage between mass air flow ● Harness connectors
connector terminal V 3 and ground with E65 , F70
SEF789S CONSULT-II or tester. ● Harness for open or
Voltage: Battery positive voltage short-circuit between
. mass air flow sensor and
OK engine control module
relay.
● Harness for open or
short-circuit between
engine control module
relay and battery power
supply.
If NG, replace 10A fuse or
engine control module relay
or repair harness or connec-
tors.

Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) (Cont’d)
COMPONENT INSPECTION
Mass air flow sensor
Mass air flow
1. Turn ignition switch to ‘‘ON’’ position.
sensor connector 2. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
3. Check voltage between mass air flow connector terminal V
1
and ground.
Conditions Voltage V
Ignition switch ‘‘ON’’ position (Engine stopped.) Less than 1.0
SEF792S Idle (Engine is warmed-up sufficiently.) 1.2 - 1.8
4. If NG, remove mass air flow sensor from air duct. Check hot
wire for damage or dust.
