1. Odontaleyrodes Indlous, sp. nov. (Figs. 1-3)
Pupal case: Pale without any waxy secretion, elliptical, not constricted at
tboracic tracbeal pore ends, not indented at caudal end; 0.50-0.61 mm long,
0.31-0.41 mm wide; found on both surfaces of Jeaf in shallow pits.
Margin: Paired anterior and posterior marginal setae present, 10,.,. long.
Margin crenulatc with irregular teeth. rounded 25. teeth in 0.1 mm; thoracic
and caudal tracheal combs or pores absent.
Dorsal surface: Dorsum with two pairs of minute setae, 3.5,.,. long-a pair on
the cephalic region and a pair laterad of base of vasiform orifice; setae on first
abdominal segment wanting. A distinct oval brown marking seen anterior to
cephalic seta. Transverse moulting suture extends to the margin. Abdominal
segments distinct with paired submedian depressed markings on segments 1·6;
second abdominal suture bends sublaterally to anterior; seventh abdominal seg-
ment very short or obscured at the median part; minute paired pores and porettes
evident submedially on thoracic and abdominal segments 1·6 and scattered on
subdorsum.
Submnrgln not separated from dorsal disc; about 16 pairs of minute pores
and porettes present; submarginal setae arising all tubercles. short, 15 pairs
(excluding the caudal setae) with 8 pairs on cephalothorllx and the remaining on
abdominal region. 17·26 I" long. A pair of caudal setae, 301' long. Thoracic
tracheal furrows wanting.
Vasiform orifice in a shallow pit, wider thlln long, 2~..33,.,. wide, 23·261" longi
operculum similar shaped. 23·26" wide, 14" long; lingula setaso, knobbed with a

posterior abdominal spiracles visible. Antenna shorter than fore Jeg with a short
pointed apical process. A minute seta at base of meso- and metathoracic legs
evident. A pair of minute setae at base of rostrum present. Thoracic and caudal
tracheal folds not discernible.
Described from numerous unmounted and 31 mounted specimens, on an uni-
dentified shrub. D.V. David. llolotype (l pupal case) and paratypes (25 pupal
cases mounted), MVSORB STATIl : Saklaspur. 1.000 m, 12.viii.1971.
This species is easily distinguished from the other known species by'the dis-
tinct brown patches on cephalic region anterior to cephalic setae. 15 pairs of
short submarginal setae and ca\ldal furrow With transverse markings.
