Different variations of Area Network

The Area Network is a geographical representation of the distance between two

points. It's a web-like system that establishes a link within a circular region, i.e.

socialising.

A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that links computers in a certain

geographic region, such as a home, school, laboratory, university campus, or office

building.

A metropolitan area network (MAN) is a computer network that links users to

computer resources in an area the size of a metropolitan area.

A wide area network (WAN) is a type of telecommunications network that spans a

vast geographic area and is mostly used for computer networking. Leased

telecommunication circuits are frequently used to build wide area networks.

The picture below shows a different network in the same map:

There are different behaviors of radio waves to travel, which we know as Radio wave

propagation.

We must know how radio waves travel from one point to another:

1. Although having the largest wavelength, radio waves have the lowest

frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum.

2. These waves propagate through the sending antenna to your receiving

antenna according to the laws of propagation.

There are kinds of propagation and how radio waves travels.

AM (Amplitude Modulation) –
When a transmitter transmits an amplified radio wave to the ionosphere, the signal is

reflected back to the receiver. This is also known as Ionospheric wave propagation or

Sky wave propagation.

FM (Frequency Modulation) –

When waves propagate through its frequency, it operates. FM waves are broadcast

directly from one location to another. Ground wave propagation is another name for

this.

When you switch on your radio and move the dial to your favorite station that

implies your radio is receiving above or below the megahertz wave.
