COLORS MEANINGS

RED PHYSICAL. It has the longest wavelength, screams


power, strength, masculinity and has ability to grab our
attention first.
BLUE INTELLECTUAL. It is the color that affects mentally.
Strong blues will stimulate clear thought and lighter
while soft blues will calm the mind and aid
concentration. In research it is appeared to be the
world’s favorite color but it can be also perceived as
cold, unemotional and unfriendly
YELLOW EMOTIONAL. Color yellow has the ability to lift our
spirit and our self-esteem. It screams confidence,
friendliness and it can also be appeared as depression,
anxiety and suicide.
GREEN BALANCE. It has harmony, restoration, environmental
and it can be appeared as blandness, boredom and
enervation
VIOLET SPIRITUAL. It has the shortest wavelength. It has
something to do with royalty even into the realms of
spiritual values.
ORANGE It is a combination of red and yellow. It focuses our
mind on issues of physical comfort which is food,
warmth, shelter etc.
PINK Pink also affects us physically like red but it soothes
rather than stimulates. It is the powerful color in
psychology.
GREY This color has no direct psychological properties. It can
be also depressing like the color yellow.
BLACK Black is all colors, totally absorbed. It is said that black
is the absence of light since no wavelengths are
reflected in it. It is also creates perception of weight and
seriousness.
WHITE It reflects the full spectrum into our eyes. It screams
purity, simplicity, sophistication and also coldness.

BROWN It is made up of red and yellow with a large amount of


black. It is much softer and warmer than black. It
associates with the earth and the natural world.
LINES MEANINGS
Contour lines It is used to define edges, to create boundaries.
Dividing lines It can also define the edges like contour lines but they
divide spaces.
Decoration lines It is used to embellish an object. The example of this is
the cross hatching, hatching etc.
Gesture lines These lines are quick and continuous lines used to
capture form or to form a sense of movement.
Thin Lines These lines are fragile, appear easy to break or knock
over but it is also delicate.
Thick Lines Unlike thin lines, think lines are not easy to break or
knock over. It is bold and give emphasis to nearby
elements
Horizontal Lines These lines are stable and secure they can’t fall over. It
is parallel to the horizon.
Vertical Lines It is perpendicular to horizon. It is accentuate height and
convey a lack movement.
Diagonal Lines Diagonal lines are unbalanced lines. They filled with
restless and uncontrolled.
Curved Lines It is softer than straight lines, they sweep, bend, change
direction and turn gracefully between two point.
Zigzag Lines These lines are dynamic, it creates excitement and
intense movement.
