I-OBJECTIVES:
A. Content The learner demonstrates understanding of:
Standard:  The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature during the
Period of Apprenticeship as a means of examining conflicts; various
purposeful listening and viewing strategies; difference between literal and
figurative language; ways to extract and condense information based on
library sources; verbal and non-verbal cues in oral communication; and types
of phrases, clauses, and sentences.
B. Performance The learner is able to:
Standard:  The learner transfers learning by: resolving conflicts presented in literary
selections; using tools and mechanisms in locating library resources;
extracting information and noting details from texts to write a précis,
summary, or paraphrase; distinguishing between and using literal and
figurative language and verbal and non-verbal cues; use phrases, clauses,
and sentences meaningfully and appropriately.
C. Learning The learner:
Competencies  Use the card catalog, the online public access catalog, or electronic search
engine to locate specific resources (EN7SS-II-c-1.5.3)
 Discover the conflicts presented in literary selections and the need to resolve
those conflicts in nonviolent ways (EN7LT-II-c-4)

Objectives  Identify the different commonly used search engines.
 Use the different commonly used search engines.
 Generate thoughts and ideas to activate prior knowledge
 Recognize main or key ideas
 Analyze and discuss the message of the poem by relating it to real-life
experiences

Preparatory Activities
Prayer: Call the assigned student of the day for the prayer

Greetings: Say the greetings to the student.

Attendance: Check the students’ attendance by stating their designated numbers

ACTIVITY
REVIEW Activity # 1: Cabbage Game!

Have a short review of the previous lesson. Ask some students about the previous
lesson using a cabbage relay. They’re going to peel one leaf of the cabbage to reveal
the questions.

State the objectives of the lesson.

MOTIVATION  Let the students complete the picture puzzle using the pieces of the pictures

EVALUATION

Activity # 7: Listen Select one student who will read the poem aloud and while the others read it silently.
To the City! Let the students analyze the main idea or the message of the poem by answering the
Process Questions. Let them answer it on a one-half sheet of paper.
