Services LLC , “Work experience allows teens to learn time management and practical job
skills that can only help them in their daily lives when they go to college and after college.”
The industrial revolution was the first-time teenagers were allowed to work. During that
period, persons were not entirely supportive of this. In this progressive 21st century, teenagers
are legally allowed to work from 14, according to Far Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In this
essay the writer will be discussing the reasons teenagers should be employed.
According to the U.S. Department of Labour, for every year a person works in their
teens, their income raises 14-16 percent in their 20s. When teens choose to have a job,
employment teaches responsibility and good work habits, improves time management and
organizational skills and helps them save money. Simply put, students who hold down part-
time jobs will have more money than they would have otherwise. As they come into
adulthood, earning an income can boost their confidence and allow them to have some fun
within the limits of their pay checks. Teenagers who work are more than likely able to budget
and save money as they have learnt the value of a dollar. As teens earn money and eventually
spend it, parents get the opportunity to teach their children how to manage their money
responsibly. In addition, the paycheck can be used to sustain wants, pay tuition or save when
teenagers take on jobs it leads to less expenses for parents or some can easily sustain
themselves. However, they would appreciate it more because they worked hard for it. As one
who has had his first job through the school for Massy’s Christmas employment programme,
I was responsible for the withdrawal and use of money which I earned. This gave me a sense
of independence as well as budgeting my money to reach the basic needs for the holidays and

“Working also gives teens an opportunity to establish contacts with adult employers that can
serve as a future reference. As teens work a part-time job, they learn how capable they are,
which in turn builds confidence and self-reliance. This can help teens feel more independent
and have the confidence to further their development with a sense of responsibility.”
Teenagers who work tend to behave more responsible and independent than others. They
would view their employment as a stepping stone to adulthood. These employed teens learn
how capable they are to work on their own and they become self-sufficient. Teen learn to
value the importance of being accountable for tasks and it develops their level of industry.
Many teenagers now either college without ever having held a part time job, and recruiters
are complaining that graduates are inexperienced. In this day and age, the job market favors
persons with experience over education. When teenagers pair qualifications with experience,
they become more valuable to employers. The experience is also an indication that those
teenagers are successfully able to balance work and education at the same time. Often,
students work jobs that introduce them to their preferred career after school is over. This
allows them to gain important introductory experience in the business and begin networking
with those in that field. Even students who work in places not connected to their majors will
look more impressive to potential employers. They'll have some kind of work experience on
their resumes to start, and the fact that they've been able to hold a job while a school attests to
their level of maturity, responsibility and time management. Employers look for employees
who understand the work environment and work well as part of a team. Having a part-time
job shows that the student is at least somewhat accustomed to the professional world, which
