Enclosed, please find step by step, simple instructions
on how to prepare yourselves for Presentation 4 --- “A Speech to Persuade”.
Presentation 4 will take place during Week Number 12,
April 4th to April 8th, 2021.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS VERY
CAREFULLY!!!
1. Be aware that the purpose of this presentation is
not simply to inform, but to try to persuade your audience.
2. The first thing to do will be to decide on which topic
to choose.
3. The next step will be to clearly formulate your
Thesis Statement (in this case, your persuasive claim, accompanied by their 3 supporting points of persuasion). This should be stated in no more than one or two sentences.
4. Once you have done this, all you need to do is
develop the content of your presentation. I have enclosed an outline for this presentation along with this message. Use it. Please include the following within your presentation: 1 Idiom 1 Proverb 1 Citation (statement of facts or figures and where you obtained this information). Example: “According to an article published in Time Magazine, in July of 2019….” Or, “According to a research conducted by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia in February 2015…”
5. Finally, you should practice well, and remember
that the time requirement for this presentation is a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 4 minutes. (Focus on articulation and pronunciation as well as you can while delivering your presentation).
