About the Journal

The aims of the Journal of Economic Geography are to redefine
and reinvigorate the intersection between economics and
geography, and to provide a world-class journal in the field.
The journal is steered by a distinguished team of Editors and an
Editorial Board, drawn equally from the two disciplines. It
publishes original academic research and discussion of the
highest scholarly standard in the field of 'economic geography'
broadly defined. Submitted papers are refereed, and are
evaluated on the basis of their creativity, quality of scholarship,
and contribution to advancing understanding of the geographic
nature of economic systems and global economic change.

"The Journal of Economic Geography is one of the most exciting

new developments in the field of urban and regional economics. It is
setting a high standard for publishing bold research and pushing
forward our understanding of the economics of location." Professor
Edward Glaeser, Harvard University

"The Journal of Economic Geography is an exciting new venture

which exploits the synergies between geographers and economists.
It is an excellent mechanism to foster information spillovers across
these inter-related disciplines and to promote spatial analysis more
generally." Professor Vernon Henderson, Brown University

"The Journal of Economic Geography represents a major milestone

in bringing together much of the best current work in economic
geography by both economists and geographers." Professor Allen
Scott, Department of Policy Studies and Department of
Geography, and Director, Center for Globalization and Policy
Research, UCLA
