Activity 1: Which aspect of Hinduism do you like the most? Please state your reason.

Although Islam in our country is the official religion enshrined in the Malaysian constitution,
Malaysians are given the freedom to practice their various religions and beliefs. In all the
teachings of the religion, many also highlight or organize good practices to be practiced by its
followers. The thing I like in the teachings of Hinduism even though I am not a believer is
Santosha. It carries the meaning of contentment and respect. Hinduism tells its followers to
always have contentment and happiness in their lives. They are also required to have an
attitude of respect for others. This explains that they must respect parents, teachers, parents
and so on. According to Hindu teachings, parents must be respected because they have
contributed so much in raising us. This admirable attitude reflects the ethics of a Hindu and it
can also be practiced by followers of other religions because this attitude is also taught by other
religions.
