PHLGA MEETING MINUTES

Date: August 26, 2021

Call to Order: PHLGA President Linda Ward called the meeting to order at 11:35
a.m.
In Attendance: There were 11 members in attendance.

Approval of minutes: Approved by the membership

From Our President: All the teams for Kactus Kapers have paid except for one
participant. Everyone is working hard on Kactus Kapers and it is going to be
another great event.

Reports:
Treasurers Report: Submitted by Karen Lord and Presented by

(a) Operating Fund: $3,732.17


(b) Kactus Kapers Fund: $17,564.94
(c) Cash in Bank Account: $21,297.11

Border: Presented by Jean Davis

Congratulations to Patty Wood for winning first low gross in the second flight of
the NM Senior Women’s Golf Association Championship at The Links at Sierra
Blanca in Ruidoso.
That will be the last NMSWGA tournament for this year, I hope many of you can
join the fun next year.

Jean Davis won 2nd Gross at the Border tournament at Cree Meadows in Ruidoso.
The next Border tournament will be at Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in Alto
Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

KACTUS KAPERS: Presented by Janis Paul

(a) At the present time we have 28 teams with 56 ladies.


(b) There is an invitation going out today for the Nine-hole group and all the
ladies that are not playing in the tournament for the Cocktail party and
Dinner. They are to RSVP by September 8, 2021.
(c) Rosemary McKeown and Mike Dixon have put the Big Break together.
(d) Candy Slover told us at the present time we approximately 60 items for
Raffle.
(e) Candy said there had been a suggestion that on the 50/50 raffle that the
winner of the raffle would have the privilege to select a charity of her
choice for the remaining 50%. A vote was taken, and the motion was
accepted by the membership and passed with a majority vote.

Advisory Board Feedback: Presented by Paula Hansen

(a) The Roof has been completed and new Smart Thermastats have been
installed. They will be locked.
(b) The bermuda grass is now starting to grow. It is a new generation of
Bermuda that will stay green in the winter.
(c) The bunkers will be improved during the winter and Ron is working on
getting clean sand.
(d) The half-way house should be finished soon.
(e) We have a new Chef, Stephen Carrasco.
(f) The new tennis pro should be arriving in late September.
(g) Bailey Wiesner is now the Front of House Manager. She will be doing
members special events.
(h) SGM is is the process of recruiting a new marketing person.
(i) Remember the time change September 2, we will be teeing off at 8:30.
