 Aurangzeb during his reign in Indian subcontinent implemented civil law based on Islamic
Sharia laws to govern.
 Many Hindu temples damaged and destroyed.
 He also abandons the religious tolerance which his predecessor especially Akbar followed.
 He managed to build a huge army and started a program of military expansion in the
boundaries of his empire.

Marathas stood still and strong and kept fighting back to keep intact what's the reason behind very
existence as a community regardless of their religion or race

He banned music, dance, and alcohol and appointed Mohtasibs or censors of public moral to control the conduct of the
people.
