5. Operation Methods

5.1 Hydraulic Hammer Ramming Steps

The machine utilizes Weichai Power 4102 four-cylinder engine, equipped with 40 ml/r double
long source hydraulic gear pump, power medium by hydraulic oil, achieve various functions by
changing hydraulic transmission to mechanical transmission.
1. Working temperature:
Environment temperature-25℃~40℃.
Working temperature of hydraulic oil: 30 ℃ ~65 ℃ , the hydraulic oil were selected according
to different temperature of different regions.
Low latitudes regions HM68 (30-40)
High latitudes regions HM46 (0-30)
2. Main points for operation and special notices
a) Before operation, check each system until they are identified as normal, and the engine should
run for 3-5 minutes with no load.
b) Before or after daily work, strictly check whether any joining screw is getting loosened. If any
screw is getting loosened, immediately tighten it.
3. The operator must be trained specially before allowing to operate the machine.

4. Safety valve in the multi-way valve has been adjusted when delivered from factory, no

need to make adjustment in the construction process, and if need adjustment in

particular cases you can contact the manufacturer.


5. Operation panel

You should operate according to the instruction marks on panel, and do not allow large
range operation. Especially in the process of driving, please pay more attention to the
operation range of operating rod.
Angles of guide rail frame (forward/backward)
When working in a place with slope, you can adjust angle by controlling the operating rod. T
he adjustment range depends on the situation. Furthermore, in order to adjust focus of pile driver a
nd improve safety, please lean forward the body frame when climb the slope. Similarly, please bac
k it when down from the slope.
Lifting operation of guide rail

Check if there are obstacles in the rotary pile head and drill bit , if there are, you should stop

operating immediately, in order to avoid damage to the pile driver. We should adjust the verticality

of the guard rail first when rotary pile head or drill bit nears ground, and then left sliding and right

sliding or moving back and forth the pile driver to lock the position of the pile.

It is forbidden to use the function of lifting to hoisting goods. If there is something wrong with the

machine, we will not provide after-service.

Spare

With one operation rod as spare. If other operation rod broken, you can use it instead.

Walking forward and backward functions

Move machine to adjust the construction location during working process, which can be

cooperated with the forward and backward functions of the accelerator. Pushing the left track rod

forward means left track moving forward, on the contrary means backward, operation of the left

track and right one is the same. For the whole track moving forward, you must push both the left

and right track rod forward at the same time; moving backward function is just on the contrary.

While the whole track moves to front left corner, push back the left track rod, push forward the

right track rod at the same time; On the contrary for moving to the front right corner. Other

functions can be realized by combination operation of these two track rod.


Left-right slide rail:
When it is necessary to adjust angle of sliding rail(left/right) in working, please follow
arrows as shown in the operation panel.
Spread and folded of folded cylinder:
Hydraulic automatic folding achieved simplicity of operation, improved efficiency of work.
When install it, please firstly raise the upper half of guide rails and then connect and fasten them
together by using rotary screw. After doing this, you can operate the machine normally. When
slightly adjust the angle of guide rail, please use upward/downward and spread/folded operating
rails together. If you want to fold guide rail after working, please remove M18 screw and loose
M30 screw (don’t remove the whole screw). Then operate “folded” to fold the upper half of guide
rail. Also, please keep the removed M18 screw and make sure don’t lose it.
Hydraulic hammer or drilling tools working

①Hydraulic hammer

During the lifting process of hydraulic hammer, you should check if there are obstacles, if yes,

please stop operation to prevent damage of key equipment. When borer pole cap is getting close to

post, you should adjust the verticality and distance between hammer and post, and make the cap

fall vertically into the hole of post. Forbid to use the lifting function for material hoisting

operation.

When hydraulic hammer is working, the borer pole cap must be compacted in the post, then

make the operating rod backward to start ramming. Forbid to make the operating rod forward and

air ramming.

②Drilling tools

Adjust the speed of providing power according to the hardness of ground in the process of rotation,

stop providing power when in abnormal condition, backward in the opposite direction to avoid the

damage of pile driver accessories. The speed of providing power is controlled by the size of oil

cylinder.

5.2 Extraction Operation

①The operator adjusts the lifting guide rail vertical to ground, install and tighten the guide

rail fixing bolt, add butter on surface of guide rail as lubrication. Forbid working in the case

without butter.

② The operator parallel push connecting support to the groove under hydraulic hammer

fixing frame, then install connecting plate and fix it.

③The operator vertically put the hydraulic hammer fixing frame into the proper position in

the inner hole of steel pile, then put in two taper sleeve symmetrically, auxiliary workers hold

sleeve handle with hands. (Note: it is comparatively safe to place fingers on the outside of pile.)

④ The operator raises the lift arm, the tapered rod expands pile wall under the reaction of

connecting plate, make the other end back pressure borer pole, the pole makes hydraulic hammer

retracted and pressed tightly, while the auxiliary workers have their hands away from tamper cap

and back to the safe place( it is best for 2 meters away), now the hydraulic hammer starts to work

and extracts pile gradually.

⑤ While the steel pile is completely away from ground, move the pile driver forward and

descend the lift arm. Make the pile end as a fulcrum and gradually falls on the ground. While one

auxiliary worker holds the steel pile, the other auxiliary worker hammers the smaller end of

tapered rod to make a gap between the tapered rod and the taper sleeve and so as to remove the

two taper caps in order, and finally lift out the tapered rod, the machine keep moving forward. The

auxiliary worker put the steel pile on ground slowly, and the whole extraction process finished.

5.3 DTH Drilling Steps and Attentions

1. Please assemble the drilling components firstly, check all the working status for preliminary

debugging.

2. Drive the drilling machine to the position where the drill bit is parallel to the drilling hole
positon, adjust the sliding rack to make the drill bit vertically above the drilling hole.
3. Adjust the drill down to the ground and start to impact and rotate the drill.
4. In the process of drilling holes, you can slide up and down appropriately to prevent the stones
and concrete block drilled from the soil to block the DHT hammer, drill bit or other parts.
5. Drilling depth control methods: if the hard soil layer is deep, you can make a mark on certain
position of drilling tools, and drill to proper position.
6. If the hard soil layer is not deep, you can stop drilling when the hard layer is drilling through,
Forbid to drill holes in soft soil layer.
7. During drilling process, make sure the main body of machine cannot move around, so as not to
damage the drilling tools or make the drilling position inaccurate.
8. After a hole is drilled, keep the drill in rotation condition and gradually lift the drill above
ground.
9. In case of drilling tools stuck in the hole, please lift the drilling tools in time and check it
carefully, forbid wrong operation.

5.4 Screw Foundation Piling Steps

1. Operator adjust the guide rail vertically to the ground, install and tighten the guide rail and fix

the screws. Adding lubrication to the face of guide rail. It is strictly prohibited when working

without lubrication!

2. Operator install rotary tool to the guide rail and fix it.

3. Operator adjust the rotary tools pile machine to the position above the screwed pile vertically. If

the location is not in the right place, operator can use sliding rack (left/right) and guardrail for

further adjustment.

4. Operator insert the rotary tool vertically to the inner hole of the flange of the screw pile .Or

insert the rotary tool into crewed pile end face, and with a pin into the pin hole), then force on it,

in this time observe if the pile is vertical. If not, adjust accordingly. Then start the rotation and

lifting function, and the pile can be screwed into ground.

5. Slow down when the screwed depth is close to required size, stop working in time in case

exceed the required size

6. Stop rotating when screw the pile to the right position, and lift the rotary tool vertically to get

rid of the pile. Then manually pull the pin out, at this point work is end.

6. Maintenance and Care of the Machine

1. Daily check and care of machine


a. After or before operation every day, all joint points of screws must be checked, see whether they
are getting loosed, especially the screws on joints points of main machine and operation device. If
there are loosed screws, immediately tighten them.
b. Observe interface of hydraulic elements with eyes to check if there are any leakages at the pipe
joints of all oil circuits.
c. Before each work shift, machine should run 5-10 minutes (a litter longer in winter) with low
speed, and operate handles with hand for warming up.
d. Infuse lubrication to each lubricating point once before operation of each shift.
2. Use and maintenance during running-in period
a. Running-in period refers to 100-hour operation period since hydraulic pile is started. During the
running-in period, machine must not be over-loaded. And the life of the machine largely depends
on running-in period.
b. Cleanness of hydraulic pressure oil should be checked 50 hours after the machine begins
operation, and the grade of cleanness must not be less than 18/15; at the same time, check and
clean intake and return oil filters, and they should be cleaned or replaced every 200 hours later;
during the check. It should be noticed whether rubber or asbestos gasket is damaged, and the
damaged ones should be replaced in time.
3. Level of hydraulic oil should be checked every day to ensure the height of oil level.

4. Clean oil box.


When machine has been operated for 400 hours, hydraulic oil box should be washed completed;
remove oil discharge screw plug, discharge all hydraulic oil, and replace screw plug; take out filter
net, wash and put it to original place, fill hydraulic oil in half box, then discharge oil again. Wash
the filter net, and put to original place, fit on screw plug, and fill the hydraulic pressure oil to full
box. Air filter and its filtering core should be often checked.
5. Hydraulic pressure oil of the whole machine should be replaced after 800 hour-operation;
the replacement should be done under heat state; and before discharging, operation device should
be laid on ground, and the engine should be shut down. After discharging, carefully check. Intake
and return oil filter, filtering core of air filter, pipeline and interfaces.
a. Check if the fixed screw plug is getting loosened.
b. Check if the belt of diesel machine fan is in correct tightening.
c. In hot climate, the environmental temperature is much too high, so operation time should be
regulated (it is highly recommended operation be done during morning or night time) or shorten
the time of continuous operation.
6. When the machine has been stopped operation for a long time, nitrogen in hydraulic
pressure hammer should be completely discharged, and oil port is firmly prohibited to be
exposed. Keep complete machine clean, and cover it with plastic cover. When it has been stayed
idle for 6 months, operate machine parts for 15 minutes without load, and at the same time, fill
lubrication to related parts.
7. Battery use

This pile driver utilizes high quality battery, it should be paid attention to the positive and negative
connection in case of short circuit and burn out the battery. The battery should be charged once
every month if out of use for long period. When in use please don't connect it randomly to avoid
the battery discharge.

7. Maintenance and Care of Hydraulic Hammer

a). Instructions for operator

Before the operator using hydraulic hammer, they must read this manual carefully and

operate in strict according with the requirements of it. For the un-experienced operator, they

cannot operate the hydraulic hammer before they have a formal and systematic training.

b). Replacement of parts

If any spare parts of hydraulic hammer broken, customer must buy them from the original

manufacture.

c). Maintenance and use of oil cylinder

The oil cylinder must be regularly maintained, the warranty period is 12 months for normal

use. During the use of hydraulic hammer, to prevent the entry of foreign matter to lead to the

damage of cylinder and piston, you should check the hydraulic oil timely to see if there are foreign

bodies in oil. Also you should replace the oil seal in time. If the hydraulic hammer is used by

long-term deflected piling, it is easy to cause scuffing of cylinder and piston. So customer must

read this manual carefully to ensure safety use for hydraulic hammer.

d). Pipe:

During use of hydraulic hammer, customer must use our specially designed pipe. For

disassembly of pipe, first you must ensure the cleanness of pipe and pipe connection.

e). Instructions for hydraulic oil

Before install hydraulic hammer, you must filter the hydraulic oil and clean the oil box, then

replace the oil. You should often replace the oil according to the service life of pile driver.

f). Borer pole

During use of hydraulic hammer, you should operate the borer pole strictly in accordance

with the requirements of user manual.

g). Replacement of oil seal

During the use of hydraulic hammer, you should replace and maintain the oil seal in time.

h). Use and supplement of nitrogen

During use of hydraulic hammer, you should check the nitrogen capacity and pressure in time.

The operator must inflate correctly and check the nitrogen pressure strictly in accordance with the

user manual, and make the nitrogen maintain the pressure range specified.

i). Use and maintenance of cotter pin

By normal working time, the cotter pin should be changed for direction every 30 days(upper

and lower, left and right direction), when one head wears seriously, it should be changed to

another direction; when two heads wears seriously, the cotter pin should be replaced in time.

j).Use and maintenance of bolt and nut

After 10 hours’ continuous working of hydraulic hammer, the operator must carefully check

the bolt and nut of every parts to see if it is loose, if yes, it must be tightened. Meanwhile, you

should ask your operator to regard check of bolt and nut as a regular check assignment, check all

the bolts condition and reinstall if requires.

k). the use and maintenance of hammer shell

The hydraulic hammer shell provided by manufacture is used in general working

environment, f in bad working environment such as hard ore for continuous work of 8 hours, it

will lead to the shell damage. Therefore, we suggest that a securing plate should be installed for

hydraulic hammer under bad working environment.

l).Beat method

In order to use the hydraulic hammer efficiently, you must pressure properly, the pressure

cannot be too large or too small. If the piles have been broken or begin to crack, you should stop

the impact of hydraulic hammer immediately to avoid free beat. Forbid to use hydraulic hammer

to move the column, also forbid to use hydraulic hammer for lifting.

m). Working environment

You should observe the working site carefully before work, and strictly abide by the

construction safety rules to avoid safety accidents. It is forbidden to operate the machine after

drunk or taking some stimulant drugs. Preheat before operation. Do not touch the hydraulic

hammer or hammer head during the working process to avoid scald. After the operation or

suspend operations, you must ensure that the equipment is completely stopped.

8. Use and maintenance of DTH hammer and Drill Bit

8.1 Use and maintenance of DTH hammer

1. Ensure the lubrication: Make sure the priming can full of lubrication before every shift, also

ensure there will be lubrication left before the next shift.(In summer use 20# oil, in winter use 5#

to 10# oil).

2. Before installing the drill rod to DTH hammer, exhaust by the operating valve and clear up the

sundries in drill rod, and check if there is lubrication in drill rod.

3. Before drilling, you should rotate the operating valve to make the DTH hammer forward. Make

DTH hammer against the ground and meanwhile open the shock valve to make the DTH hammer

working. At this moment please note do not rotate DTH hammer, which will make the drill bit

unfixed. After impacting with a small concave pit and the bit is fixed, open the rotary valve to

make DTH hammer working normally.

4. In the working process, check the tachometer and manometer of compressor regularly, if the

rotating speed of drilling machine decreased sharply and pressure increased, it means problems

happened to drilling rig, such as hole wall collapsed or mud hoop appeared in the hole, you must

take some measures to solve them.

5. In the drilling process make sure there is not rock slag in the hole, you have to clean the hole by

strong blow when necessary- it means to lift the drill bit 152mm from the bottom of hole, at this

time stop impact of DTH hammer and all the air exhausted through the center hole to clean slag.

6. If you found the drill bit or pieces dropped into the hole, please absorb them with the magnet.

7. Sharpen the bit teeth regularly, and make sure the teeth height ranges from 9-9.6mm after

sharpening.

8. When change the drill bit you should pay attention to their diameter, if the drill bit gets wear

and the hole has not been finished, you should not change the drill bit with a new one in case of

jamming.

9. Pay attention to the diameter change when do high-efficient drilling work, the drilling bit life

depends on the ratio of axle load and rotation speed. Different stratum will have influence on the

ratio of axle load and drill bit. It is advised that the minimum axle load given to DTH hammer is

that it does not bounce on working condition. The rotation speed can be adjusted according to

scoria size.

10. It is forbidden to rotate the DTH hammer and the drill rod in the hole in case of miss accident.

11. When drilling process is stopped, do not stop to provide air to DTH hammer at once, you

should lift the drill bit and blow it strongly, when there is no rock powder out of the hole then

lower the drilling tools and stop rotation.

12. Because the connector and drive chuck are both right hand thread, in the drilling process, you

should keep DTH hammer rotated on the right direction all the time.

13. When opening, you should use the minimum impact and propulsion force to make the drill bit

smoothly into the rock strata.

14. Propulsion and tool weight matching is very important, propeller thrust must be changed along

with the change of drilling tool weight.

15. DTH hammer usually adopts the turning speed of 15-45rpm, the faster the speed, the drilling

speed will be faster, but in the hard rock, speed should be reduced in order to protect the drill bit.

16. Clogged or cave-in of the hole, can lead to a stuck drill. It is best therefore, to clean the holes

at regular intervals, by carrying out air-blowing with the rock drill.

17. In the process of connecting rod, slag and various impurities will fall into DTH hammer, so

you must cover the thread ends of drill rod to ensure the drill rod without crag or dust.

18. Reasonable lubrication for DTH hammer can never be ignored, otherwise, it will accelerate the

wear speed of DTH hammer or even damage it.

8.2 Use and Maintenance of Drill Bit

1. Use different drill bits, axial compressions and rotational speed in different terrenes.

2. When drill a hole, please be sure to follow three elements of boring a whole (wind pressure,

axial pressure and rotational speed).

3. Before working, please make sure both parts and model of drill bit is normal.

4. Please put the drill bit in a suitable place to prevent dust and other debris into it.

5. When change drill bit, please make sure that the drilling tool is clean, the outlet is unobstructed,

and threads are smeared lubricating oil. Then you can start working after installing drill bit by

lifting and rotating.

6. Before changing a new drill bit, please check carefully whether the three gear wheels are

flexible and the thread and gear wheel are in good condition.

7. When start working, please run drill bit in low axial compression and low speed about 20-30

minutes and then gradually increase to normal axial compression.

8. Please clean all debris (rocks, scrap metal etc.) around the hole when use a new drill bit. While

rotating, please ventilate and put down the drill bit slowly to prevent damage.

9. Please check seriously whether dorsal metacarpal and alloy teeth of old drill bit fell into the

hole when change another drill bit. Please don’t use the new drill bit in a hole which has residues

of old drill bit.

10. When drilling rig stops working, don’t keep drilling tools in the hole with water to prevent da

maging drill bit because of backflow.

11. When work in gwag or a place where has rock crevices, please reduce axial compression and s

peed to prevent breaking gear teeth.

12. Don’t reverse drilling tool when it is still in the hole to prevent drill bit from falling into the ho

le.

13.When drill bit stop working in the hole or in air compressor , Rock and slag is easier to fall into

drill bit, so it is forbidden to rotary for a long time leading to the badly wear of the bearing , rock

and slag crushing ,and drill bit wear .
