You Only Live Once

Lately everyone around me has been using the term “YOLO”-you only live once. At first, I didn’t take
this very seriously but now I have really thought about the meaning and I wanted to share my thoughts on this
with you.
You only live once. Simple but true. From the very second you are born; you are stepping towards your
end. You will never get any time back. We often worry about things that we can’t change or that don’t matter.
The type of worrying we do about something in the future. We can’t change the past, but we can change the
future! If something worth stressing over is really worrying you, the power to change it. The CHANGE has to
come from you. You can change your future. Your actions and decisions determine that.
From the day we are born till the day we die, there is always something missing, always something we
are running after, always something that we seek, want, need and desire. Life is a journey filled with lessons,
hardships, heartaches, joys, celebrations and special moments that will ultimately lead us to our destination, our
purpose in life. The road will not always be smooth; in fact, throughout our travels, we will encounter many
challenges.
I have a simple philosophy: Fill what's empty. Scratch where it itches. I believe- living life is like licking
honey off a thorn. One should not think of retiring from the world until the world will be sorry that you are
going to retire. The world owes you nothing. It was here first. In life all of us have an unspeakable secret, an
irreversible regret, an unreachable dream and an unforgettable love. To succeed in life, you need three things: a
wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone.
Every day we are engaged in miracles which we don't even recognize, a blue sky, white clouds, green
leaves, and the black curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes- all are miracles. When you are busy, stressed
or otherwise distracted - do not forget to live. Do not forget to make sure that you have for yourself- time to
enjoy
Remember the saying that, “Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So, love the people who treat you
right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it
changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it by
Harvey Mackay.
Thank you.
